I have been looking under the hood of a few 3rd gen Hilux surf (1996-2000).
Some of them have the 2.7L gasoline and others have the 3.0L diesel or turbo-diesel engines.
What's your thoughts on them? Which one would you choose if you only carried dogs and light camping equipment (no tow needs).
I have one year of experience with my 4runner so your opinions are highly valued
