Hilux Tailgate + Swing-out FOR SALE (feeler)

Hi all,
I had a rear tailgate and spare swing-out imported from Japan and it just arrived yesterday. I'm super stoked on it, but I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it right at the moment (6months ago it was a much better idea). Anyways, if finances don't work out, it's up for sale to you guys. I paid $1300 + taxes/duties + 2 tanks of gas to drive and pick it up. Let me know your offers and I'll know very soon whether I'll be able to keep it or have to sell it. (1000x cooler in person BTW) =)

No, you have to reinforce the pass side frame to bolt it on. Check out how Blcktpgsr did his.

Man, this is so tempting since I just discovered my tailgate is rusted completely through on the bottom lip. Even being a different color it is tempting, but the price to just too much for an impulse buy.

Wait, just read that again, I think you meant the gate only, not the tire carrier. I think the gate IS bolt on. Anyway, Here is Blcktpgsr's post:

HAHA I noticed that too! It's actually the picture the junk yard sent me of what I was getting. I was too lazy to take pictures today. Don't worry, socks and sandals are a nono for me!

This is one mod I'm definitely doing to my 4Runner in the sometime future, and if I have finances I would buy it! I'm not too terribly far away either for shipping or even coming to pick up. The drive to Seattle from here is a nice one (I've done it a couple times).

I was just up there earlier last month too. Driving to the PacNW from anywhere is a nice drive. Too bad it wasn't for sale then!

Oh good...good for him, looks like he's finally figured out the wiring harness issues with the tail gate.

well, no updates yet. I'm still trying to figure out the whole wiring fiasco! ugh. I am planning on installing the tire carrier either this weekend or next. If you have a more detailed writeup of what exactly you did (positioning/fit, cutting, welding etc) that would be awesome! I'll keep you all updated on the wiring end of things.
