Hit and F'n Run!!!

So I come out of work after my 12 hour shift, and I go down to my truck, which I parked near a site where they are building new townhomes. I check the right side since I parked near fencing that had been piled up to make sure it wasnt scratched....and sure enough....no scratches. I walk around the rear of the truck to the drivers side, and see that someone did this:

So I went back for 3 days trying to see if I could find a red truck (based on height of scratch and paint transfer), but to no avail. Son of a B-atch! It pisses me off that someone can hit my truck, which was my first new vehicle I ever purchased, and keep on going. I was able to buff out most of the damage, but that really black deep sratch if right down to the rubber of the bumper cover. Good news though-no metal was scratched...so I dont need to worry about rust/dent issues. Here is another one. FYI-these pictures were taken of the driverside rear tire.

Sorry to hear that happened, keep up the investigating, that fool will drive up in his vehicle sooner or later exposing himself, go looking around, (I am guessing, but it would be their right front bumper or back left if they were backing in) I have a feeling you will find this guy and when you do have the cops on speed dial... Take pictures of the other vehicle too... This happened to me before on a previous car and I actually found the guy and took pictures of his car, called the cops and explained the situation with the evidence. Of course the guy lied and said he was never near my vehicle, he could not provide an alibi so the local cops got him... Paid me 2,000 in repairs... So keep looking I think you will find him

Dang, sorry to hear that happened Shaun. Damage doesn't look too bad, but it's the fact they didn't leave a note or stick around. Rat bastards...

Are there any security cameras that could catch the person? People are so inconsiderate when it comes to this.

I looked at his user name and read that above his picture that said "I am a cop, don't hate me", but I thought that was a joke... well with that being mentioned I am sure he will find the suspect...

Well...it has been a couple of weeks and havent found %#$@. OH well. One of the other deputies is going to help me repaint it this spring-for a case of beer!

Show up in uniform and ask the GC if he has any subs who drive a red truck. It could also be a roachcoach, so be on the lookout for that too.

I am surprised your dept. doesn't have secure gated parking. I would think for security, etc. the dept. would want to protect your vehicles while you are out protecting their community. Go figure.

If you find them pull out the taser.

At least you can write tickets to erratic drivers...the rest of us can't really fight back against idiots who hit parked vehicles and take off. Take the bad drivers licenses away and get them a bus pass.

My Runner has been hit 3 times already by people since I got it last July. I think it has to be the worst feeling. I carry a 26 in collapsable batton in the car and I am just waiting for the day that I catch one of those selfish bastards doing it so I can personally bust every one of their windows and dent the hell out of their vehicle.
