Hitch drop

I need to buy a hitch ball mount to potentially tow a U-haul trailer in a couple months. I was curious what amount of drop people typically have the most luck with. I'm anticipating some rear end sag since I'm not running airbags. Should I get a zero drop ball mount or is a 2" drop a good bet?

It all depends on the trailer and your hitch.
I have 2" and 3" Ups (not drops) for mine.

Agreed, it all depends on the trailer, the position of the load in the trailer, your lift height and your hitch receiver, ideally you wanna see that trailer sitting dead level when loaded and hooked up to the truck, especially for twin axle trailers. I usually end up with a 4-6" drop drawbar that uses a 1"-1.25" ball hitch shank, 3/4" shank just doesn't cut it IMO and you don't want a 3/4" shank ball on a 1" drawbar eye. I have found every trailer is different, and those Uhauls are usually pretty tongue heavy, so I have about 4 different drawbars lying around.

I've rented several U-Haul trailers of varying sizes and the standard 2" was enough to get plenty of weight on the ball hitch. 98 with stock springs and stock sized tires. If any of that is different, you'll need to add roughly 1" of drop for every 1" of tire or spring height.
