Hitch Mounted Bike Racks

My Soft Ride set up has worked well for 4 person rides. Its super sturdy, does not rattle, has a security cable, and gets out of the way of the rear hatch. To fit 4 mountain bikes you have to flip one upside down but everything fits nicely.

here is my custom low profile single bike rack. thule didnt like my mod but i needed to be able to take it to the trails. cut 22" off the rack and the best part it was all free

even added a clip for the pedal

I second the suggestion for the 1UP USA rack. American made and very well built. Makes those other racks look cheap. I bought the 2 bike carrier that fits into our 2" hitch receiver. It can be expanded to hold up to 4 bikes.

To follow this up... I am so glad I posted to this forum. I followed your advice and others on the 1UP and love the thing. I've had it since March, driven to Moab and many other places in Oregon and this thing is stout, even with 4 bikes on it. The slope progression up as it gets further from the vehicle makes meshing bikes super easy.

Also, the look of envy on other's faces at trail heads when I roll up in a sweet 3rd gen with a sweet rack is like sipping on a fine bourbon.
