I'm in the market for a hitch too. From what I've seen in this forum and around the net, the best bets are either Curt hitch or a hidden hitch. It appears neither one of them will require cutting a notch into the bumper - others can attest to their experiences.

They actually look pretty easy to install with a little help (just somebody to hold it).

The link below goes to one place I found and on the page you can download the instructions. It takes up a whole sheet of paper!:D

Do a search for "Hitch" in the 4th Gen forums and you'll find some information.

I put on my HiddenHitch. (Link in sig) It is easy and tough all at the same time.

1) A second helper person is wonderful. They don't need to be mechanical or very strong just able to help balance the hitch.
2) There's one bolt above the tailpipe that's a pain to reach. It's best to use a torque wrench on all of the bolts but that one bolt will be annoying and you won't be able to torque it.
3) Lower the spare tire and get it out of the way. It'll make access much easier.
4) After one or two tows re-torque the bolts one more time then it'll be fine for a long time.

It is a DIY progect. Don't let the one bolt scare you too bad. It's just annoying.

If you don't already have the 5k rear frame hitch, then the install isn't that bad, as CJ3Flyr said. But, if you do have the 5k factory hitch, then the 'upgrade' gets a little tricky. You will have to remove the rear bumper cover in order to remove the original 5k hitch, before you can install the frame mounted hitch. Also, you will probably have to relocate the wire harness connector because the frame mounted hitch tube will probably get in the way.
