Ho cool is your AC

Mine is also decently cold, especially when the temp is in the 80s, but once it is the 90s or approaching 100 outside it definitely seems to struggle, especially if i am in stop and go traffic and not cruising. i checked the refrigerant and it is where it should be, so that should mean no leaks. I really hate to think that it is something else, cause as far as I know, there are very few cheap AC fixes...

The AC in my 04 will freeze you out if cranked all the way up. Granted it doesn't get hot in this part of the country, well not over 90 yet..

I live north of Seattle (Bellingham) WA and it was 71 and sunny today. My A/C is rolling the windows down and opening the sunroof. Sorry for all of you guys baking this summer! I did turn my A/C on today to test it and it's ice cold....hope you get it figured out, sounds like you need it serviced.

Mine feels weaker than some new rentals cars I have driven, but never-the-less good enough for our 110 degrees weather. How often do you guys have the system recharged? AC seems to get weaker over time and need to recharged.

We have a 04 v6 sport 4wd and the a/c seems to work great! We set it on auto and select 72-74 degrees. Live in Phoenix, AZ and we see 110+ degree weather on a daily bases this time of year. Maybe your freon needs to be checked as a starter. That seems to be the cheapest thing to begin with.

This 4th gen T4R is my 6th Toyota overall. Of those 6 (and my T4R and son's Camry are still in the family), I've accumulated almost 1,000,000 miles and not once did I ever have to service/add refrigerant to any of them. Just lucky, I suppose...

imo, adequate can just be a term used by some of us for a couple reasons, 1) not everybody"s degree of sensitivity to hot or cold is the same. 2) not every vec. on the planets heat or ac is equal in ability, so it can simply be just an individuals personal opinion & not a matter of it needing service or not.

its a big space to " Cool quickly" in Phoenix..When Its 112 it takes about 5 minutes to cool everything off IF the car sits in direct sunlight all day....Under cover ..normal 1 minute

Well geeze this thread attracted lots of people from phoenix! How are all those haboobs treating your air filters over there? :lmao:
