I've never been to Holy Jim and have been wanting to go. Are there places around there to camp and are there enough trails there to make it worth spending a night or is it mainly good for just day trips?

It's a short fireroad trail to a hiking trail. Not worth it unless you're in the area already. Could do maple springs to Ortega too. All camping nearby is pay camping.

we had a big group out on sunday morning. we were going to head up jeep hill but plans were foiled by one truck not having what it took to get up one part (resulting in winching, then a destroyed muffler and mangled front skid), and then a jeep rolled a little farther up the trail and we rescued him. the gate to the trailhead is open according to @holyjimoffroad.

jeep hill has some pretty fuxked up shit. holy jim is more than just the road back to the trailhead.

jeep hill has some pretty fuxked up shit. holy jim is more than just the road back to the trailhead.

Haven't done jeep hill, but it's not really worth my time either. haha. I've been hiking up to the waterfall for 25 years, before the bros and the soccer moms figured out it was there. Was a lot more fun when there wasn't anyone else up there.
