Sure, one of those hood scoops is a cute little sticker, and if you bondo it on there it'll be hard to remove later when the bondo starts to crack and it really looks like junk, but I'm sure it's cheaper than an actual factory hood scoop. It's worth noting that while the factory hood scoop may look kinda cool, it's also effectively nothing more than a sticker. There is zero benefit, and some (admittedly minimal) detriment.
If you want a hood scoop and you don't want to spend money on it, maybe do it right. Cut the bracing out of the middle (or wherever you want the scoop), make three more cuts (the front and sides of your scoop), do some bending, and weld in some filler strips. Now you have a REAL non-functioning hood scoop that didn't (if done correctly) cost much more than a few little scrap pieces of sheet metal and some paint. If you suck at that sort of metal work, maybe spring a little for filler.
In the end though, you're not going to be saving yourself a whole lot of money and you went through quite a bit of trouble (even with the factory hood) for absolutely zero gain. It's an expensive and labor intensive sticker. Good for 10hp.
