I have a rolling code and haven't had a problem. I just followed the instructions in my owner's manual. I think it involves using one of your existing remotes to program it first, and then having it "learn" the rolling code by pushing the button on the back of your garage opener and then holding down your homelink button within 30 seconds until the light changes.

You could always erase the memory by holding down the two outer buttons and try it again.

well -- i tried that -- no luck

i cleared the homelink -- that worked fine -- but when i try and program it -- it never goes to the fast blink

any other ideas?

ok -- that is what i thought -- i've been through the directions several times -- with no luck

i've got one more remote that my wife has -- i'll get hers tomorrow and try it with the homelink to see if it is any different

I had the same problem for a while, till one day my garage door's one spring broke. The guy that repaired it helped me to program it quickly. The step not in the owner's manual, but in the link attached by ToyotaDoodz was key. That is step one: Hold the 2 outside buttons till the light blinks, which clears the system. Then it programmed just fine as per the rest of the manual. DOnt forget to have the opener learn your "new remote", once you programmed your homelink.

The link by Doodz is excellent, would have saved me a lot of time and trouble :)
