hood deflectors for 06+

Nothing is broken and it's mounted "rock-solid" with no movement, but it must vibrate enough at speed to grind stuff into the paint. When I mounted it, there was no contact with the hood in this area and I was very cautious while installing this and made sure that it was away from the paint. I believe that with all of the sand that they put on the roads here in the winter, bits would accumulate and fill the gap between the hood and deflector. I would spray it out from the center and both sides when I could throughout the winter, but that proved to not be enough. Just a heads up for those considering installing any deflector, I would guess. Here are some highlight pictures of the damage and the last picture is what I did to stop any further damage from occurring... it's a heavy duty tape that's used to protect high wear areas on dirtbikes so it should be fine for a while. The deflector is mounted over the top of this so you can barely see it.

Yeah that's exactly what I am trying to avoid, so want to be cautious of my choice.

Yep...that happenned to me, BUT WORSE!

The brackets had gone THROUGH the CC, paint, primer, and i was looking and shiney steel when i removed it. I bought it to the dealership that installed it and gave them hell.

After i fixed it all up, i did the nylon spacer "mod" (for lack of a better term) and this is what it looks like now:

Been on like this for years, havnt had a problem since.
