I've seen a few posts about a sticking hood latch, (right side) looking down on it. Hood releases, but cannot close, (need to use a screwdriver to push down the latch). I have used PB Blaster/Aerosol Degreaser to free uo the latch, but it seens as if the mechanisim may be worn out. My question is how easy is it to replace the assembly? I have seen 2 different assemblys, 1 with, and 1 without theft deturrent. What is the difference in the 2? I have a '99 LTD. The Parts Barn has both, but not sure which one I really need. Are the 'Bay items worth it?

You sure your hood release cable isn't just stretched out?
