Hood Protector???

Thank you for the details!

But I have a question. Is the Benevento the exact same as the OEM one offered by Toyota?

It's exactly the same, i guess for the US version it's labeled under benevento/form fit and in canada it's toyota...

Judging by the picture that spud72 took and by how he described the installation, it's the same deflector.

I could take pictures later if you'd like....

I can't answer that as I haven't seen a "Benevento" branded one. Maybe if Blindside posted some more pics of his I'd be able to tell you.

My gut says just from his pics I have seen, I'd probably put money on it that it's identical.

If anyone wanted a Canadian OEM one, it cost me approx $90 CDN. Shipping might be a pain in the butt. It'd probably arrive in about 6 chunks. :)

Spud72, I'm heading to Toronto in 2 weeks, I'm thinking of getting one too .:D

Since it's toyota oem, do you still remember the part no? so I could call ahead. Thanks

I don't think Toyota dealerships sell the Benevento.

Am I to assume that the Toyota OEM Canada version is different from the Toyota OEM USA version?

Right, but Toyota also does not manufacture hood deflectors either. They get another company to do it for them. It appears in all likelyhood that Toyota Canada's hood deflectors are made by Benevento (or whatever) for them. :)

Excellent!! I'll try give dealers in TO a call and see which one have it in stock... Thanks men! :biggrin2:

true, i was about to do clear bra, but after the quote and did some research online, holy crap!!!! if i do the hood, then i would rather go with the extended full bumper, then, both side mirrors, thats add up A LOT!!!! crazy money there!!! that's almost the cost to buy a Jao's bull bar.
You know what, if you're really interested going with that I noticed you can buy them on Ebay for a song. Of course, you've got to install it yourself, but if you can get it for $150 for the whole set, wow - might be worth trying.

Heya CNI how did the bra work out for you. I am planning a trip back to AK and want good protection as I plan to rock.

here is the US version.......

I just installed the factory model ordered from my local dealership and it doesn't look like that. It does say Toyota on it but it stands away from the hood. I like it because you can get behind it to clean. I'll try and post a picture later.

I thought yours was aftermarket..?

Yessss surrrr... it's exactly the same as the toyota canadian version... but here in the US it's labeled under benevento for some reason.. somebody mentioned that toyota does not manufacture they're own deflector so they must be gettin' it someplace else

The toyota US version is a lot different from the toyota canadian version as you've mentioned

One more from the side, I hope this shows how far it stand off from the front of the hood.

That's what I thought. Just confused me when he asked if the Canadian Toyota and US Toyota where the same and then you presented a pic of yours saying it was the US version.. implying it was a US Toyota version. I just misunderstood. :)

Thanks for the Pics BC4R - definitely a lot different than the Canadian version.
