All 3rd gen years will fit all other 3rd gen years. If you could find a trade it is as easy as just swapping them over.
The confusion sees to be that if you buy an aftermarket hood you'd need the extra pieces since the aftermarket will just supply the simple hood but you need the insert,backing and screen to complete the job along with the nuts and bolts to secure it to the hood and those are dealer only items.
You could just run the hood but you will have a big hole where the inset goes and would look silly not to mention all the crap that will collect in the engine bay.
I'm sure if you went the dealer route they'd sell you a complete hood all put together and ready to install.

Thanks so much for the close up pics, NOW I know what the "OTHER" parts are. So if I just order the hood from say Conceilli Toyota, will all the parts come with it since it is coming from the dealer?

I knew you needed a good pic for clarification since that can be confusing.
If you just order the hood you still need to order the insert and stuff too unfortunatly. If you call them and talk in person to the guy who handles internet orders they might throw a deal together. It's worth a try.

Yea, my best bet would be to actually talk to a live person. Hopefully, they will throw in a deal. All this would have been avoided if I just bought a Runner with a hood scoop. Ha Ha This website and yotatech doesn't help either...everytime I see a hood scoop, I get hood scoop envy.
