Hood won’t pop

My cable has stretched and end has broken. Have tried the plyers technique and pulled hard on the cable no luck... How do I pop my hood!? Can someone also post some pics of the mechanisms? I can access the latch you grab with hand but need the springs to pop to open.

I went outside to try and grab you some pics and there's not much to see. Everything is buried under a trim piece and such.

Are you saying that the inside handle is busted and you tried just pulling the cable end with pliers? I haven't had to do that yet but just be sure you're pulling while holding the "sheath" with something else if that's come loose too.

If the hood has "popped" and now you're just trying to get it loose with that extra safety handle at the base of the grille I can help you there. When I installed my winch the solenoid pack was rubbing on that connecting rod. It ended up breaking the stupid plastic clip that holds the rod in place. I was able to get the hood open and "secure" the rod back in place with a couple of zip ties.

plier technique dont work. use a vice grip technique.

I am still unable to open my hood... have tried pulling on the cable via pliers, and or vice grips. Is there another way to pop it so I can open it? When look through the front grill I cant see much and seems there maybe bit of plastic covering where release maybe?

That plastic cover looks to be in the way, 4 little tabs hold it on, marked in yellow circles.

That radiator top cover is most likely in the way too...had left mine off after breaking a couple to many clips and left it off.

Looks like a real pain in the rear to get at the latch through the grill.

Added a couple more pics.
You would need to move the mechanism to the driver side to open.
The cable and end is just like a bicycle brake cable...for info.

Where did the cable break at?
If it was under the dash then that would be nice if you could grab it with vise-grips.
If it broke at the latch it maybe time for that custom front grill you never knew you always wanted....

Damn this looks nearly impossible... Basically just the little ball broke off in the cabin. I was then using pliers etc to pull the cable and pop the hood. Currently I can pull all I want and nothing happens. I have stripped some of the plastic sheath to get hold of more wire but still nothing.

I just popped the end out of the lever, under the steering wheel.
I can pull it by hand and the hood will pop open.

Yeah mine is out of lever that metal nub on end is gone. I have wire exposed and can pull with all my might and nothing

I was able to use a long screw driver to pop my hood when that happened to me.
