A little late to the game but 3M vinyl wrapped hood and front bumper.

I run a sign shop. If any one needs any custom graphics or vinyl cutting done let me know. Looking to help out the members.

Why do I have to be the one to tell the guy to search for the pics of hundreds of hoods on this site that have been blacked out?
Go to google.
Type in 5th Gen 4Runner with blacked out hood.
Go to images
Be amazed.

Much to difficult :banplease::boom:even my old ass can do that ! Eh

:attention:Son's 05 from crawlarado . Did mine with matte gray . :attention::attention:

I recently went the dip route (PDS Black Satin) for a couple of reasons. A) I have a buddy who is a pro with the paint gun, B) I totally plan on my hood/roof being a revolving pallet of sorts as I experiment with other tints, pearls and flakes in the near future, and C) I don't really have to worry too much as I tear through the bushes, brambles and rocks. If it gets nicked, torn or scratched, i'm just an easy peel away from the next version.

Like mine..I have a wrap done. Like it but I wish I'd have gotten the stripe instead of the whole thing.

Personally not a fan of the 'stripe' look. I think a solid hood with the scoop adding differentiating contrast is the way to go when wrapping/dipping these hoods.

Sorry to bring this thread back from it's grave, but what size roll should I buy in order to wrap my hood ? Thanks :)

i read on another thread that the 2nd gen Taco hood scoop is the same size and there are ebay retailers that sell the portion over the hood scoop. I'm thinking about that as the sun glare off the scoop is pretty intense when the time of day is right.

I went to the local and only wrap shop in my area, 400 bucks to wrap my hood. Is that a decent price? I remember getting the hod done on my Xterra for around 150.00

You can go quite a distance for the amount you could save. Realistically if you found another shop within ~200 miles that charged $275, said and done with gas $325. Worth a few phone calls.

I'll try pensacola, the issue is where I live there is nothing.

I got the Taco one, but the same guy has one for a 4Runner. I'm guessing they are the same as my 2nd gen Taco one fits.

I rarely get glare but when I did it was early evening and it was pretty blinding. No glare now and I like the looks. Have a helper when you install and do the wet method with a good amount of soap. No wind helps tremendously.

So I wanted to give this a shot DIY style, was pretty difficult not going to lie. Only tips I have are to work from the top down and have a second person to help stretch the vinyl over the hood scoop. It's not perfect but its good enough for me.
