Awesome, thanks for the feedback, guys. Did either of you have any issues with balancing the tires? I read a lot of the KO2 posts saying they just can't get rid of the wobble..

Another vote for the KO2s, I almost at the 15k miles on them and have performed flawlessly. Lots of Highways miles + trips to Hidden Falls, Big Bend and lots of forest service roads.
I have OEM trail wheels (7.5" width) and running 285's but you should be fine with the SR5 wheels as well.

Got my TrD wheels and 275 KO2 on and my Local Discount Tire had no problems balancing them. Drove around the rest of the day and turning full lock forward and reverse with whole family in the car (wife, 2 kids and a baby) and experience no wobble or rubbing. Pics do no justice as to seeing them in person imo. Very happy with the setup.

Nothing like coming home after a shitty Monday + eom at the office to find a big tower of goodness waiting for you!
My cat has been talking non-stop about these dang wheels arriving, and was thoroughly excited throughout the entire process lol
I was hesitant to go with a 17x7, but the wheel just looks too good on these trucks. This is one slick looking wheel, folks!
Still deciding which direction I'm going with tires, but something tells me I'll be deciding pretty quick now..

i would not consider ANY all terrain tire if you deal almost exclusively in mud, and you're concerned with the performance vs a heavy ass F250 and a Jeep on 37s.
the best mud tire you can get is the Nitto Mud Grappler. They're loud, they're ornery and they work ****ing well.
that said if you want something thats good in the mud and well mannered on the street, the best well mannered mud focused tire I've seen is the Nitto Trail grappler followed up by the Goodyear MT/R Kevlar
i would suggest you get as tall, and as narrow as you can because the reduced floatation will cause you to dig deeper to more solid soil below the mucky surface.

I agree with [MENTION=104049]marshal[/MENTION]. Tall and skinny if your mud has a bottom. Fat and wide if your terrain has no bottom such as beach sand and mud in some parts of the country... and deep snow.

They're sitting on a few hundred acres in Central TX, so its not straight mud, but more a little bit of everything. Unless its been raining heavily and the fields/trails are saturated, the only real "constant" mud zones are:
--Trails leading to a handful of hog hot spots that we trap
--A large creek that winds through the property feeding water to these various spots via smaller creeks, which we've always crossed the big creek at one of the low points rather than go around, which requires another three gates..
--They have 7 tanks, 5 of which are stocked and sit on the other side of the creek with their own trails. I can get to two of them easily, but getting to the best bass, crappie and channel cat tanks are a little tricky, especially when the creek/tanks are full and/or it has seen recent rainfall.
I'm not really competing with the '98SuperDuty, as my pops doesn't wanna tear up his own land. Pops sd he will cut the tall tips off the dried out ruts BIL left behind, and fill-in the tall ruts/deepest mud pits with his tractor, clearing me for takeoff on my AT tire of choice
I immediately called my guy at Discount and got a set of Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 275/70-17 for $872 and will be here Friday :thumb3:

Good deal man. Post some pics when you get em on. My lil bro just went up there to Austin last week to pick up his 16 Trail in Red and would be nice to see yours with those tires as he will also build his but I'm sure he will go different routes and brands I do just to be different LOL.

I'm very familiar with the terrain in Central Texas... It does present a mix of just about everything. The mud can be nearly impossible as it often gets really slimy on top of a limestone bed (it varies quite a bit, depending on the situation). Best bet is to air down as much as possible and run as much tire as you can. Also, invest in some maxTrax for those rare occasions when you do get stuck. I find that MTRs do fantastic in central Texas, but it's obviously going to impact mpg and road performance compared to an AT. The last few years have been really dry anyway (besides last spring, which is when most of the trail damage probably took place).
