Hooking up Scion T1806

Hello. I'm new here, and just found out about this site a week ago. I have to say that seeing all the stuff guys have done to their 4runners has given me a whole new appreciation. I have a 2004 SR5 V8 that just turned 103,000 miles. My main reason for checking the site was to look into the timing belt issue, which I just had done, but then I saw some of the MOD threads, and decided to make a few mods myself.

I recently won on ebay a Scion T1806, and I also won the ipod interface cable. SC12235 I expect them to be here by thursday. I was wondering about the AUX Jack. I listen to Pandora on my droid, and i'm not sure how I can hook that up, and what I need to make that happen. I'm also not sure what I need to do to install the radio. Do I pull the metallic trim piece off, and pull the radio?
Whats the best way to install the ipod interface? Where does everyone mount the ipod?

Can the ipod be controlled from the steering wheel, or the radio?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks....I've checked numerous thread, but can't seem to find anything about the aux jack. Oh well...i'll keep looking.

This thread details how to create an AUX input for the Scion HU's (installed in a 3rd gen but applies to all Scion HU's with AUX capability):

Alternatively you could find a scrapped T4R with an AUX connector and transfer it over to yours, but I'm not sure how that would work. Check the scionlife website for more about adding AUX connectors.

I can't seem to load the site that explains how to disassemble the dash for the radio install, but it's really easy. Basically you have to remove the trim around the shifter, pop out the climate control unit, then remove the silver bezel around the HU/climate controls. The radio itself then needs to be unbolted, then the brackets can be swapped over to the Scion HU. From there, install in reverse of removal.

The iPod can be controlled either from the steering wheel/HU or directly from the iPod, but not both. If you choose to control the iPod itself, control from the steering wheel/HU is disabled. If you choose to control the iPod from the steering wheel/HU, control using the iPod itself is disabled.

I use one of these to hold my iPhone:

It's cheap (but well-built), removable, adjustable, and holds my iPhone without having to remove the case. I suppose it could be used to hold just about anything else now that I think about it lol.

Others have run the iPod cable to the glove box too... not bad if you have an iPod dedicated to the car...
