I won't either, but I'm continuing to work. See, I'm under public payroll (after 38 years in a private, multinational corp). This crisis has little effect on those continuing to get a paycheck, i.e teachers, politicians, public 'servants' etc. The private sector is the area where all the layoffs/bankruptcies will occur. I don't understand why anyone that continues to get paid should get anything.
 
I'm in the private sector and non union but luckily our main thing is fire alarm so we are considered essential.

Just because I'm working doesn't mean its not affecting my bottom line.
 
I saw this on the Jeep forum and found it funny (and sad of course for the poor guy that is sick). Bolding is mine.

Hopefully like everything else made in China, it won't last long. I've been sick for 2 weeks. Two days of uncontrollable coughing followed by nausea, fever, chills and breathing problems (wheezing, burning sensation in the chest). The doctor tells me to stay home for 2 weeks, then come in to get checked out. I guess I could have been a doctor too.

p.s. For all the confirmed cases, I bet there's way more that haven't been confirmed. I've never been to a doctor to confirm the flu either, but I know when I have it.

That quote about being made in China is funny. I'm in the Chicago area and a good portion of patients suspected to have are just being told to stay home and aren't being tested. If they start to having breathing issues to then go in which results in obviously a confirmed case.

In what universe was it ever OK to lick a toilet bowl? Or a pole in a subway train?
 
Colorado under mandatory lock down starting tomorrow morning 8.am till April 11.Violators will be fined $999 plus jail time if necessary.

A little late but a good start. In Germany there is a 3000Euro fine (about $3500) - max 3 people together with a valid reason to be out.

A friend officiated a funeral in Germany earlier this week - max two people at a time at the gravesite or a 25,000 Euro fine.

I cannot find words to adequately express my thoughts on this and people who do such things... unbelievable. So many questions, but no explanation would make this or people who do things like this make any sense to me.
