Two things to add to this.

1) Those people were in poor health prior to contracting the virus.
Combinations of hypertension, diabetes and histories of smoking. So im my opinion, these people killed themselves.

2) From January to April, that is the only instance the CDC could find of this occurring anywhere in our county. Out of the thousand of gatherings from January to April, this is the ONLY example of this happening? Hasn't happened anywhere else? In my opinion, that is a very week argument for shelter in place.

Also would like to point out that less than 1% of the people that die from this have no underlying conditions.

People need to mind their own business. Just because you are terrified and want to be barricaded in you house doesn't mean other people should feel the same way. It just be me but the virus is just doing a little spring cleaning.

If you are, in fact, in the "medical field" then I hope you really mean that you are part of the janitorial staff at a hospital, because no medical professional should make such statements.

By your definition, 90% of the US population falls into one of the categories that you speak about.

How about those people with type 1 diabetes? I guess that is their fault too. Hypertension? I know several people who have high blood pressure, are marathon runners and otherwise "healthy" - but both the diabetes and hypertension fall under your "they did it to themselves" category.

I doubt he's in the medical field at all. Even hospital janitorial staff is trained is the basics of disease control because it's an important part of their job. This guy is probably a cashier at CVS.

Being in the medical field, I see the BILLIONS wasted on people who just sit around smoking, and eating themselves to death. If it gets to the point where a choice has to be made, people in the hypertension, smoking, and type 2 diabetes categories should be given lowest priority to healthcare access. ]

Outside of smoking, can you seriously generalize and say ALL of those with HT and T2 diabetes had a choice in wanting or not wanting those conditions?

That alone is knowledge at such a basic level, which based on your contradicting statements, tells me you're not in the medical field as any type of physician or expert. Even if someone with those health conditions don't smoke, aren't overeating, essentially managing their lifestyle to perfection, there's no guarantee you don't end up on metformin, ace inhibitors or beta blockers to manage one or both later in life for one reason or another. To hear any medical professional say that those people should be given the lowest priority to healthcare is surprising given some don't have a choice no matter what they do.
