It isn't even math, it's common sense. The virus went WW starting Dec at the latest, high probability as early as Nov. Made the rounds. Now the #s are falling.

I'd suggest that in fact no one is giving any weight to your ramblings about it being a hoax or your new take that it's already endemic. Look the data isn't matching the models! OMG. The sky is falling.

The most comparable populations with and without temporary shut downs are Sweden and Norway. I know data isn't really your *thing*, but even visually this one is kinda hard not to understand.

It's entirely possible, even probable, that Sweden will end up passing through the peak faster than Norway and be back to work as normal sooner. How many deaths is it worth to reopen the economy a week earlier? A month earlier? The answer might depend on where on the risk curve you fit and how much the social distancing effects you.

This will be a gradual process and the new normal until we have herd immunity and a vaccine. Implementation really depends on when we see hospital and ICU numbers flatten and decline. Gav wants us to stay at home and not work, but he still wants his property taxes paid on time... I'm guessing even MORE people who actually work for a living are going to run away from here when the dust settles. And he will respond by raising taxes on those who remain. This guy is a clown.

I’m not sure what he was saying, that’s why I was asking him directly.

I fit into the very large group of people (maybe half the population?) that some folks seem to be saying are high risk, based on charts and graphs. I’ve been working every day without interruption. So saying go back to work unless I’m at high risk is tantamount to saying I should stay home. That is unwise due to my life circumstances, and would needlessly add me and my family to the current economic burden the country is facing, nevermind the financial disaster that would befall us as a family.

My suggestion: be careful when casting a very wide net. You might get caught in it one day. The right answers to all of this are not yet known by anyone on the planet. Best to view it that way in my opinion.

Yeah the property tax issue sucks. It’s a huge payment for most of us. The way it’s been explained is that this is the major funding source for counties and school districts. And if they don’t get their money they’re in a world of hurt at a local level right now. So the state doesn’t want to delay it. Catch-22.
