I'd suggest that in fact no one is giving any weight to your ramblings about it being a hoax or your new take that it's already endemic. Look the data isn't matching the models! OMG. The sky is falling.
The most comparable populations with and without temporary shut downs are Sweden and Norway. I know data isn't really your *thing*, but even visually this one is kinda hard not to understand.
It's entirely possible, even probable, that Sweden will end up passing through the peak faster than Norway and be back to work as normal sooner. How many deaths is it worth to reopen the economy a week earlier? A month earlier? The answer might depend on where on the risk curve you fit and how much the social distancing effects you.

When this is all said and done, maybe we can get some color charts of "free market healthcare" compared to "socialized medicine". Would be difficult to narrow it down with all the other variables involved.

Agree for sure. But as I said they need the masks and testing kits to protect the high risk populations. I think we will see this VERY soon.
I dont think tyrannical governments have anything to do with this. Overzealous maybe, or just plain scared given they what they are up against. Mixed with some "not letting a crisis go to waste" spending. lol

I don't think anyone can know if the current bottom has been reached. An asset bubble exists and is being made worse by the government intervention in artificially low interest rates. That's mostly unrelated to the COVID situation and has been building for a few years, but eventually it'll bust. It was bad before, it's getting worse now.
If you're really curious about markets over time Benoit Mandelbrot's fractal randomness work is worth reading.

Not to jump on the bashing train, but are you not in Jersey? The above example was one town. Nothing to do with the governor's executive orders. That being said, the towns and counties that use " police for profit " are losing money every minute the country is " locked down", more then a few are getting carried away ( more then normal). Being ticketed for walking the wrong direction on the sidewalk for instance.

I think that ad hominem has something to do with grits.
Per CDC, 22,252 deaths "linked" to the coronavirus.
Admissions for coronavirus patients have been on a downward trend.
Hospitals in major cities packing up coronavirus run off tents
Health experts are coming out stating the worst is behind us.
This disease ran rampant for the US for at least 3 months! Only 22,252 died. Its killing the democrats right now because they dont have the numbers to justify keeping the economy shut down. They even allowed hospitals to categorize patients a coronavirus deaths if they suspected it was it might have been from the coronavirus due to the lack of available testing. And hospitals did it to make sure they get reimbursements. There are hospital systems getting close to being down a billion in revenue from this. For their own good, democrats have to plan for people to go back to work.
To be honest, I knew the numbers would be low, but didn't think it would be this low before people started talking about opening back up.
Right now there are only 579k known cases. Once antibody testing becomes available, Im GUESSING it will jump into the millions easy.
There are some government welfare depends on here that will have to start looking for jobs in June :focus:
