I'm not sure where this idea came from that Sweden is doing things right by not shutting things down. While you can speculate on the number of infected, the one number that you can compare between countries is fatalities per million inhabitants.
Norway has a similar demographic, with similar immigrants, workers and what-not. the health systems are similar.
Norway currently has 36 fatalities per 1m
Sweden has 200
The US, that just crossed the very sad 50k fatality barrier, has 156 fatalities per 1m people.

The concept of "herd immunity" seems to be failing. In the long term, when you've killed off the vulnerable populations, the herd immunity may work.
With COVID-19, the vulnerable population is largely over 65. So let's kill them off.
With H1N1 in 2009, the vulnerable population was school aged children and young adults - so let's kill them off too.
Who is the next novel virus going to affect.
Social distancing works. Let's keep it up.

Still coming to the office. We have a bunch working from home.
Already told them their asses are coming back to the office once we are given the all clear.

Understood. Lot's of places require butts in the seat so to speak. Hopefully some employers will understand that folks can be just as productive (or more so) working remote. Not dealing w/ traffic, co-workers talking sh1t/distracting their peers most of the day, not consuming office resources, etc. ... I can work longer hours/get more done w/ out the office environment. Stay safe out there. :thumb3:

Engineers at my brother's job say they are more productive at home because they don't talk as much to other people. My brother says he is more productive in the office because he doesn't talk to anybody anyway, and at home there are a lot more distractions.
Engineers at my work are slower at home due to internet speeds and downloading 3D files and re uploading them, etc, and I'm sure I would be less productive at home as well, not to mention completely isolated as I'm single. Lots of tasks I do are much faster in the office, where if it was implemented correctly, I believe is the most efficient location for work.
Not to mention needing to be close to the shop so I can check on physical parts myself and that my very limited social skills would go in the dumpster.
Tons of pros and cons to either for every individual.

Its the exact opposite here.
Some are pushing the limits of getting the slip while working remote. I ask a question I should get a response.
Traffic is not my problem learn to leave the house early.
My observation is that the folks that I work w/ that aren't productive remote aren't productive in the office either ... babysitter or not. :shrug:
