REPLACEMENT Power steering hose. LOWER PRESSURE RETURN HOSE GOING TO Reservoir.
Initially I thought this was going to be a 30 mins- 60 mins procedure. Turned out to be 3.5 hours procedure.
NO NEED TO JACK or REmove any wheel.
To remove to that hose,
1.Disconnect clamp from reservoir.
2. Remove the 12mm BOLT from clamp that hold the HOSE TO FRAME.
You will not be able to remove bolt from HOSE to CLAMP. NO access.
3. Disconnect clamp from the metal tube and hose in the front.
4. This this the tricky part. Had to keep thinking of ways to remove the WHOLE Metal +rubber hose assembly
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PULL OUT THE WHOLE METAL TUBE AND RUBBER HOSE ASSEMBLY. YOU MUST REMOVE REMOVE ONE THE BRACKET CLOSEST TO THE RESERVOIR.. WAY TOO DIFFICULT.
ALTERNATIVE:
REMOVE THE BRACKET IN FRONT. GET UNDER SUV. LOOK UP FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. YOU WILL SEE IT.
REMOVE THIS BRACKET.
WAIT. IT WILL NOT COME OUT. YOU MUST BEND THE THE METAL TUBE...UNTIL IT BREAKS. THIS WAS WHERE I LOST ALOT OF TIME.
JUST BEND IT BACK AND FORTH.
IT WILL BREAK INTO TWO PIECE.
5. NOW you will be able to just PULL up on the whole hose and metal tube assembly from the engine bay. it will pull right up.
Take a break.
6. to install NEW metal tube and rubber hose.
you MUST remove the bracket that is closest to the reserivior.
10mm or 12mm bolt. easy.
Now you can slide the whole assembly from the front of the suv. it will clear that small space. THE BRACKET WILL PREVENT IT FROM FITTING THROUGH THE SMALL OPENING.
Attached the hose clamp in the front
Attached the 12mm bolt to the +clamp+frame underneath the front passenger side. Easy.
Attached the hose clamp to reservior. EASY
The hardest part will be putting the Bracket to hose clamp that is closest to the reservior. TOOO Hard. You can drop the skid plate and try to get the clamp back onto the hose from underneath or if you HAVE SUPER LONG ARMS you can attached it inside the engine bay. You would need a reach of 30"..
I said F'ed it. Screw this last bracket.
No need for this bracket.
It looks simple. TWO brackets with bolt and 4 hose clamp.
It's just trying to get the metal tube will bends in it to pass through a small space....is difficult/impossible to do without removing the bracket.
once you remove the bracket that is attached to the hose...it becomes sooo difficult to put it back on the hose once the WHOLE HOSE/METAL assemble is in position.
If anyone has done this...what was your technique?

There is raised hole behind the mesh grill in the front skid plate. YOU CAN JACK FRONT OF SUV from there. Beneath that hole is the cross member. I put my finger in the hole and feel the crossmember. 1" inside the hole...it automatically touch the cross member.
