V8 transmission cooling tube leak

Hi folks. We have a 2007 V8 Limited, and we have a transmission fluid leak. The leak is in one of the painted steel tubes that run from the passenger side of the transmission case to the front of the engine, where they both transition to rubber hose. One hose goes to the trans cooler in the radiator, and the other goes to the OEM external trans cooler.

The leak is coming from one of the metal tubes where they both are clamped to a bracket mounted to the side of the engine block. (Can't tell which tube until the bracket is disassembled.). Both tubes have their grey paint bubbling from rust. I believe one tube has become porous enough to leak, and both tubes have many future leaks.

Would you order new steel tubes from Toyota? Or just replace them with lengths of transmission fluid rated rubber hose?

I am not asking if it's OK to cheap out with rubber hose. It's because when I search on line, using my VIN, for factory replacements I get 4 to 6 different part numbers 32921-XXXXX for the "tube, oil cooler inlet", and also 4-6 different parts numbers 32922-XXXXX for the "tube, oil cooler, outlet". I don't want to play the game of ordering several parts until I get the right variation.

I'm not finding the hard lines available from Toyota at all. Your best bet to get them might be to search ebay for some good used ones. Worst case, cut off only as much of the hard line as needed to get solid line and then extend the rubber line. Just make sure whatever you use is rated for trans fluid.

If you saw how many places that the tubes had the grey paint bubbling from rust under the paint you'd understand why I'm uncomfortable using any of the old lines. All of the steel lines that run alongside the engine block need replacing.

Strangely enough, the two steel lines that run from left to right between the radiator and the engine have no rust to speak of.
