How can I get my factory rear speakers to work? (88)

Guys trying to stay budget and use exisitng rear speakers. I got a harness adapter and I'm using the strock harness. Problem is I have 4 spearker wiresing going in (Lt/Rt -+) but there is a 5th wire on the factory harness and the rear speakers have 4 wires going in to them...looks like they have their own amp. Suggestions besides "get new speakers"

My '90 4Rnr had amps build around each rear speaker - not sure on the '88s'

The thing with the rear speakers is they just aren't loud! they have a small magnet and motor, they are really low to the ground and there not much you can do to help that... maybe wiring a 2 channel amp to them would help.. but you risk blowing them sense they are not high quality speakers.. at all..
