How can you tell if a Trail has KDSS?

LoL. My bad. It was a balanced that I did. Wrong wording on my end ;-)

I seriously doubt you bled it. You balanced it. which is a piece of cake as long as the instructions are read over about a thousand times since they are the worst written document ever produced in history :help: Unfortunately, that balancing lasts a few days and then the lean is typically back (if you have it after the lift).

Sorry for reposting to an old thread (I am also not able to start a new thread as I am a new member), but just to confirm, this vehicle DOES have KDSS, correct?

I was in the same predicament a month ago I found 2 really easy ways because dealers are a piece of shit and don’t have the time for you unless your physically there.

1. Drop the VIN into Toyota’s website and if it has kdss it will say so on the build sheet, From my experience doesn’t seem like many people opted for it but I might be wrong.

2. If you are at the lot and the dealer has the key turn the ignition to on but not start. There is small yellow light on the bottom right of the gauge cluster that illuminates “KDSS”

Happy hunting !

What are you talking about? There are more people running KDSS in here than not.

Yeah sure I’d agree with that. But “in here” doesn’t represent “out there”. Like I said earlier I might be wrong but it was very difficult to find 5th gen 4 runners with kdss during my search to buy one. Every dealer I called had no idea what it was.

Do you live in a Gulf state (Most of Texas to Florida)? If that is the case, then KDSS is not offered unless the dealership specifically orders one. I live in Texas and none in DFW so I had to go to Arizona. Amarillo had one but would not negotiate the price. So if the salespeople don't know about KDSS, they probably have never seen or sold one.

I live in Ohio. I wanted the TEP with kdss and the sliding tray so my search was kinda specific. Didn’t find any (within a reasonable price/mileage) a 100, 200 and 400 mile radius stretched it out to 500 miles and two results generated. One in Kansas, and one in Arkansas. So I took a trip. Got what I wanted plus TRD PRO wheels and C4 fab rock sliders for a super great price. Like I said the kdss is a pretty pricey “extra” (I think Toyota puts it on the build list for around 4K.) doesn’t seem like many people opted for it.

Thanks. I had done that and it did come up as having KDSS, but the seller had made no mention of it, so I wondered if it might be possible that the VIN report was wrong. It's a fairly long drive to see the vehicle in person, so I managed to get them to send me some photos of the inside of the wheels.
