How Capable Are 3rd Gen 4Runner's, Off-road?

How capable are the 3rd Gen 4Runner's, off-road?

I am specifically looking at a '99 SR5 V6 w/ 5-speed and 4x4.

In comparison to a '93 Truck w/ 4x4, 22re, and 5-speed?

I used to have a 1st Gen 4Runner w/ carb'ed 22r --- capable, but underpowered.

Even stock they're pretty damn good, especially if they come with the e-locker. Mine's mildly modified and the only thing holding me back is fear of body damage.

bushpig i see u are in ny but austin,tx and san antonio,tx are the best place to find 4runners with 5spds on autotrader and craigslist i found mine there usually they have 4 or 5 to pick from
