does anyone have this mounted on the side of the rack? I see this all the time on every other rack. I have an awning on the passenger side and want to put this on the driver side. I don't have a lot of room up top. I would rather have it on the side, will the etrailer mounts work?

Its just T-slot aluminum bars, all kinds of stuff you can do with it.

I used tnuts and spacers to hang the hi lift up off the cross bars a little and keep the base off the roof paint. One of these in the front and one in the rear with a long bolt and a wingnut for quick access.
