How Difficult to remove limited fender flares?

Hey all, I am getting ready to apply Monstaliner to the exterior of my terribly faded paint on my limited 97. I would like to remove the flares front and rear during this process to replace the rotten rubber that is in between the two. I have two questions for you.

1. How difficult are the flares to remove.
2. Does anyone have the part number for the rubber that lives in between the body and flares

Did you figure anything out for this? I have the limited flares. I didn't like them at first, but they are growing on me now and they definitely need to be trimmed on the rear part of the front flares. I also plan to monstaline my 4runner. Based on ripping one flare halfway off, it looks like they are a few screws and several clips holding them to the body.

After looking a little further, I only plan to remove the flares over the fenders, not the cladding on the doors. Seems to be a couple rivets, and several clips each. Ill post further when I get into the tick of it.

Clips and screws, comes right off, just remove them all or you will crack the flare trying to pull it off. The rubber seals just tape in.

Those little clips break pretty easy taking them on and off...just a heads up!

53853 is the front fender flare rubber pad part number

If 53853 is the rubber part for the flare, what's the 75691B and 75692B? I was just looking for the rubber parts as well.

I really don't know. I went by the picture with 53853 because it matches the fender flare extension pad (53851).

My best guess is that 75691(2)b is a pad that goes inside the flare to protect the paint.

I contacted them asking what the difference is and will post back with their response.

Sorry, never got a response from them...

They were quick to cancel my order when I ordered the wrong part, like 15 min after placing it. Yet, they don't respond to an inquiry.

Come to think of it. I asked a question before I bought the parts and they never answered the question, just got my vin # and checked fitment.

Dang, I'm kinda tentative to assume that 53853 is correct because the part wouldn't align the same on the right and left if it was the same one. SO IT WOULD HAVE TO have (L) (R)? is my logic right? Unless they come in flat and contour around the fender.

The left and right gasket pieces are the same for either side. Boy do those little buggers add up cost wise. i ended up replacing them all.

I am sitting on a plane right now, when I get home on Friday I'll get you the part number. The funny thing is I ordered the ones for the rear flares as well, but they gave me another set for the front fenders, which are way to long. However, they have enough extra on them to replace the pieces on the front bumper extensions.

I doubt they are contoured. Rather a flexible rolled up strip.

It was very difficult to get them to wrap around the flares without a gap in the tight corners

They are not contoured, just rolled up and put into a little bag. Part number for the front is 53853-35020
