How do I seafoam my 99 4runner???

hi,
im new here, and i wanted to seafoam my 99 4runner. I already did it to my 99 accord using the pcv tube to suck in the seafoam. I wanted to do it to my 99 4runner, but i dont know where the pcv tube is. Does anybody have pictures of where it is located. Thanks!!!

this stuff is good but it is known to clog spark plugs and O2 sensors, my O2 sensor has gone bad after i seafoamed. gas mileage also drops but thats because of the clogged O2 sensor and spark plugs i guess. here is a pic i got from yotatech.com

well its natural that the exhaust will contaminate ur plugs and sensor just because all that crap and dirt is loose now and is going out the exhaust, a lot of people complain about it. just do 3 cans of seafoam and replace ur plugs after a few miles.

I pulled out my PCV and poured 1/2 a can of seafoam in. NOTHING HAPPENED??? Anyways I put a couple ounces in my oil, and the rest in the fuel tank. Why did nothing happen? My PCV looked pretty gummed up but that won't have any effect using the seafoam. Can anyone help. My motor has a little over 150k. So I'm sure the motor has carbon/sludge in there. I just bought this a little while ago and while inspection the motor noticed looking down the oil fill that old burnt and decayed oil was everywhere and could use a good going over. Any info would be great thanks!!!

Most of the people on this site have a 4th generation Runner. We haven't reached enough miles/time for Seafoam to be needed yet.

Yeah what is seafoam? This weekend while doing the deck plate mod I noticed a nasty looking PCV and throttle butterfly. I emptied a can of throttle body cleaner and replaced the PCV and it is much better now. I know for sure the previous owner did not do any maintanence for sure now. Other then the oil changes they just abandoned this beauty. At least I think I caught it early since it only has 45k miles when I purchased it.

IMO and a few of mechanics I know think any of those methods are overkill on new vehicles and the benefits are minimla if you run synthetic oil and use good gas. I think on older cars that have had quetionable historys might benefit from a good Seafoam job but new cars should never build up that much crap to need a job like that.

I used BG's 44K once a year in my '93 Eclipse GSX (very modded and drag raced ) and ran Mobile 1 syn in it since it had 20k miles on it and I tore the head down and dropped the oil pan at 101k and had no unusual build up and the valves had almost zero deposits on them.
I think I'd seafoam my truck once since I bought it with 90+k on it but after that I'd just run the BG's once a year and always run high quality gas. I know people who Seafoam every 15k which IMO is a waste of time and money but every once every few years might be a more realistic interval for those who really have to do it for the peace of mind.

I'm sure it's good stuff but I'm not sold on it considering the trouble and having to replace parts that are probably fine particularly the O2 sensor which isn't a cheap part.

yea, can we just unhook it before seafoaming? or just plug in an older one just to run for a couple of miles ?

I'm wondering if you fed the seafoam into the line coming off the PCV valve or did you dump it into the hole in your valve cover that the PCV valve goes into? If you dumped it in the hole, that's your problem - it needs to go into the line going to the intake plenum.

Lots of people don't think about this but be careful when you feed the stuff into a vacuum line. If you go too fast you can hydrolock the engine and even bend a rod so do it SLOWLY!!!

98Runner, if you have that much sludge crap on a 150K engine, the PO probably didn't change the oil enough. I recommend reading my thread on induction cleaning - much more intensive and effective than a can or 2 of Seafoam. It worked awesome on mine and gave me about 6-8 more mpgs which I'm still getting consistently. It even got rid of a miss in one of my cylinders:
