how do u act when a cop pulls up next to you

I always roll down my windows or at least open the sunroof to let in some light.
I'm not sure if tint is a secondary offense or not.
After I get the windows taken care of I'll turn the music down if it's loud.

Actually back in the day I was at a light in my '93 Eclipse and a CHP in a '00 Camaro pulled up and I looked over and revved at him and threw a wink and he just nodded back and smiled.
Seriously tho',I just take notice it's a cop and just drive normal,no reason to be nervous.

Maybe when you don't have anything illegal in or on your vehicle. I think tint is like a $200 dollar ticket and you have to remove it. Noise violations can be expensive too.

I'll tell you all the same thing I told my 17 year old daughter who got stopped yesterday for 43 in a 25. Drive as if there is a cop driving behind you all the time, or that there is one on the next corner waiting for you. Cops are not un-human evil creatures (well maybe a few), but just doing their job. Just don't do anything to call attention to yourself like speeding, jack-rabbit start, swerving, etc.... But if you do get stopped, be courteous and polite, ...., that will always make things come out better, maybe not get you out of a ticket, but may keep him/her from trying to find other reasons to check things out a little further.
Most 25mph limits are in residential areas. She must be rushing for something. Anywayz, hope she didn't get a ticket.

Thankfully Colorado cops aren't traffic nazis as I had illegal tint
And full 3" turbo back exhaust which wasn't on the quiet side.
But I did get plenty of speeding tix but never was my mods or tint mentioned or even the fact that I had no front plate,simply wrote me a ticket and I was on my way but I did get plenty of speed violations over 8 years but now with the 4Runner I've only gotten 2 speeding tix over 6 years and my illegal tint on my 4Runner was never mentioned.

Well, I have to be honest - she got stopped about a mile from my house, I was returning home from taking the 14 year old to his school, and I get this text from her asking me to come get her out of a ticket - ???? So, I go past the house, and find her pulled over by a local law enforcment ageny that will remain nameless. I knew the officer and pulled up beside him. Asked him how fast was she going, and he said 43 in a 25, then asked if that was my daughter. I said yes, and he agreed to change the citation to a written warning, and would leave it up to me to administer due punishment. He had already given her the ticket, so I let her cry and worry all day long about it, before I told her that she was not going to have to fork over $200 for the ticket plus whatever increase in our insurance. So, any suggestions on additional punishement? I think it literally scared the **** out of her, she was really boohooing, mascara running down her face, etc...., I really felt sorry for her.

I drive as I normally would ...i hate those people that go 5-10 under when a cop is next/behind them!!! Drives me mental!!!

As long as driving as you normally would is in compliance with traffic laws - LOL. I agree on how some people act when they see a cop - slam on the brakes, slow down to about 20 below the speed limit, freak out, ....., like the boogy-man is coming to get them.

I agree!! Just stay around the speed limit and you will be fine. I also think its funny when people slam on their brakes when they are pretty much next to the cop. At the point it is too late. I rarely hit the brakes when I see a cop I usually just coast, my thinking is it draws less attention to me. Who knows if that is true or not.

Let her sign a piece of paper that she will not go over the speed limit again. And if she does, she pays the fine and loses the car. OR she can pay for her own car and own insurance then she can speed all she wants.
