How do you carry your longboards/SUP?

I’m planning to add a Prinsu roof rack in the near future. The “feet” on the Thule that run perpendicular to the rack itself swivel and I’m planning to remove them and bolting it directly to the rack. I haven’t disassembled it yet, but I suspect the “pivot bolt” would make it bolt able to any rack.

Thanks, and yes I do, although on this particular weekend I sliced a sidewall pretty bad and could not explore as much as I was hoping to. Thankfully the tires were on their way out anyway.
great thread and posts... one of the reasons we purchased our T4R was the back window and the versatility for longboards... and of course our pup loves being back there with the window down.... we purchased the Dakine Aero racks and they work great to help with the clearance of the antenna... again thanks to all for the great and different ideas
Are there any decent pads under $50 for the OEM cross cross bars that will clear the shark fin?
I need to roof transport a 9' hard plastic paddle board and I've never done that before. I need to drive 130 miles with it. Can I go highway speeds with one strapped on top (80-85mph)?

You could probably just use something as simple as this: Amazon.com: Alfa Gear Soft Roof Rack Pads with 2 pcs Tie Down Straps and 2 pcs Ratchet Tie Down Ropes for Kayak/Canoe/Surfboard/Paddle Board/SUP/Snow Board and Water Sport 28" Long Wide Version : Everything Else
As long as it's securely strapped you should have a problem. I have a Yakima Sup Dawg that I've used to transport a longboard and shortboards, I've probably gone ~90MPH (bc Texas) on the interstate at points and they haven't budged. If you're worried, pull over a few mins after getting on the interstate to check and see if they've moved/loosened at all.
Sweet thanks. That's just what I was looking for. I'll be driving between TX cities so will likely get to 90 if I'm not paying enough attention. I like hearing you don't have issues.
When loading from the back, do you do anything special to have to clear the fin? All the vids I look at people are taller than their cars or have no fin.

Nope, I slide my boards up there then stand on the back tire to strap the back, stand on either the driver front or driver rear doorsill to strap the front.

Sherpa rack with some of their "smileys" placed at the right spots and straps. Takes 5 minutes for 2 SUPS.

hoping these will keep still enough to load and unload on the side and protect the paint, but DANG the 4Runner is so much taller than my grand, which also could lower to park mode. saw a Youtube vid of a guy who ratchet strapped his kayak hauler wheels high to roll on to the back and clear both the rear spoiler and whale fin antenna.

Its not a 5th gen but I'm about to buy one and will most likely install the same system on that one.
This is my 3rd gen. I have the Baja Rack on it. Then I attached a set of Yakima round bars to the Baja Rack and a set of Yakima SUP Dawgs to those. Ended up being pretty low profile and works awesome. The truck is with me down in Mexico and I use the racks every day.
Only thing I can say is that although the Baja Rack looks and functions awesome, it is actively rusting apart in several spots. I have contacted the manufacturer several times and they will not respond to any of my messages. I won't be buying their stuff again in the future.
