How does this look?

Guys I need your opions on the looks of my wife's 4 runner.
They it has leveling kit of 2.5 on the front & 1.5 on the rear. The orginal plan was for them to send me a 1.5 leveling kit but they sent a 2.5 for the front didn't catch it till after installed And made for reverse rack. So here how it ended up looking. Not level but just sits higher up front and in rear.

It sounds like you got the right thing. A leveling kit would be a front lift that was 1 inch higher than the rear since the standard stance is raked forward. So a leveling kit would be 2.5 front 1.5 rear, or 3.0 front and 2.0 rear etc. The bottom ends up level and the window line is level or slightly forward (like it is on my 2014) and the roof line is slightly backwards. But overall it's "level".

I have wondered the same thing in the past. Seems like the rear is a little higher because Toyota expects that we will use these trucks for hauling gear, people, dogs, etc. With the added weight in the back, it will end up sitting level instead of reverse rake. But if you aren't hauling a lot of heavy things in the back, Toyota's assumption will be wrong and you may want to use a leveling kit. That's my understanding, someone more knowledgeable may come along and confirm this or correct me.

Looks level to me, but if you load it up with people, gear, both and/or tow, it will sit nose high.

Agree, but Chevy, Ford and Ram have figured out to combine a smooth ride, tow capacity and level stance.

The 2nd Gen 4Runner was notorious for ass dragging. If you ever see a stock truck from that time period, it is definitely dragging its rear end. I believe Toyota had a TSB to fix this. Toyota's response is to add extra lift when new so as the vehicle ages the rear suspension will sag to give eventually a level stance.

That's my conspiracy theory.

Looks good. I just ordered the 2.5" front / 1.5" rear from ToyTec. I found a Toyota dealership that will install it for me so I don't have to worry (as much) about the install f**king up my XREAS.

Aerodynamics. Better gas mileage. All trucks have a slight forward rake. Hell them Chevys are practically dragging the front bumper to save gas.

Load hauling capacity. You can spring it soft for ride and when you load it up will still be level without the headlights pointing into the trees and blinding people.

Please show me a 4X4 pickup that is level. Next please show me one that has the same weight distribution on the rear wheels as a SUV like the 4Runner.

Maybe a little but mostly for weight. I have had over 1K lbs in the back if you added the tongue weight of the trailer I was pulling. Leveled out nicely lol.

Bottom line: If a vehicle is designed to haul and tow then it will have a rake. Simple. If you remove that rake like several do then you had better re level your headlights because if you add much of a load back there you will blind other drivers and best of all (at least to me) you will look like a total dork while driving down the road nose high with no real load haha! Yeah, you can't see it because you are driving but you will, trust me. I see it all the time here. People level their pickups or jeeps, put a little weight in the back and all the sudden they are ass draggers. Why buy the vehicle in the first place if you don't like the stance???

I have daystar kit that was suppose to be 1.5-2 inch to level out only to find after install they sent me 2.5. So since already installed and had negative rack where the front was higher in the front I choose to get 1.5 for the wear to make it look right.

In your pick it looks leveler then my wife's which could be due the angle of the pic? All I wanted to do orginaly was level it out but turned into more since the wrong kit was shipped. So that's why I posted to see what you all think. And thanks for positive replys.

As for the tires I am a big fan of white letters out to give it a better look in my opion. I just don't like black tires facing out. BFG's are all I run on my tundra and now 4runner. Great all around tire with good wear and performance with proper rotation and balancing.

Standard rake is about 2" higher in rear. So with a 2.5f/1.5r, the rear sits 1" higher with out any load.

they only make a 2.5/1.5 "kit" aside from that they have a 1" front spacer. I think it is just picture angles. Mine is damn near perfectly level. if I took a tape to it it might be .5" higher in th eback

Yes that is what I was trying to do to being with was having hers level out. Now I am back to square one raised the front to much so I had a choose to make pay to have the front leveling kit off and start over or install rear lift to make it look right so I choose to install the rear kit.

It's not that it's looks bad to me but that my attempts to even it out were loss by the mix up. Oh well both kits are installed and I don't plan to remove either as the cost to do so is greater. Thanks for the help and advice.
