How does this look?

What would you guys think of
-Clear corners
-color matched grille
- red emblem
-clear turn signals??
I'm a purist, but in the sense of consistency

Your rig is silver. If it were mine, I'd color match as much as possible and pick one subtle accent color, like dark gray, and do emblems etc in that. But that's me.

My truck is green, so black gets lost, but I did black out my headlamps and side markers internally and I'm de-badging it and gonna dip my rims metallic dark grey - I'm essentially blacking the truck out.

FWIW, red skids may look crappy when the paint gets scraped off, or they may looked "battle scarred" your choice.

I encourage you to be creative, find inspiration and do what you like. Doesn't matter what other people like; its your truck.

What do you think? Remember, there's no wrong answer here. I think I saw that you were 15? Not to get into too much of an "I remember back when I was that age" speech, but I do remember being that age with my first car. And the urge was to stand out and apart as much as possible no matter how small. I was over that by 17 and with my 2nd car, I wanted clean clean clean. That is something that has stuck with me ever since then. And in most areas of my life, not just with automobiles.

As long as you don't screw with the safety of it, I'm ok with whatever you want to do. Like I keep saying, you're the one to need to make happy. And that's a general life tip.

This is so true. I remember this with my first Subaru. When I was 18 I got an older BMW and my eyes were opened.

Thank you, once I get home I think I'm going to change it up, I also want to have consistency.

That's so money! Once you go black...

I'd strip the paint off those lenses asap before you get s ticket, however.

Thanks, I think I'll probably leave them on till something happens, my risk but laws may be different idk, if I get any attention for it I'll probably invest in some clear corners and led tails and such.

It doesn't necessarily have to be against the law to be an issue. You're sort of flagging yourself as a young male driver. Many cops will find a reason to pull you over for it.

Remember, the nail that sticks out is the one that gets hammered.

That's true I never thought about it that way, I might change that.
Thank you, it's crazy how much I've learned from the people on this forum!!

I'm impressed that you are as open as you are to new information and views. I think myself at your age would have told a bunch of old dudes to piss off.

Haha thank you, well if i did that I would be riding around in a "Different" looking 4runner lol

Thank you, I think I am going to end up going without the red.

I have to say I am impressed and love it when kids get into vehicles and mechanics. I literally thought "I liked that crap when I was a kid" on your first post. You are a kid and keep doing what kids do!!! It sucks (car wise) for most kids today compared to when I was your age...but make the best of it and keep doing what your doing.

Whew.... so glad I didn't have the internet until well after college....my ass would be in prison...not asking if my runner looked ok!!
