How is it daily driving with Long Travel?

Thank you for your input and knowledge. I suppose I’ll steer away from long travel. I Shouldn’t mess with something that I don’t really understand.

Not trying to discourage you or anything. It is just that a true long travel setup is complex and expensive to setup correctly. It is easier to do with trucks because a longer wheel base cycles better, there is just a lightweight bed and spare tires to valve for and you can slap on a leaf pack and be done. It sounds like your current setup is already great and those king bumps will be good to soak the big hits. If you run rear wheel spacers you can probably weld extended shock mounts so you can fit some bypasses in the rear maybe 12"s; or even a cantilever setup like someone else mentioned. At the end of the day... it is a 4runner and will take you wherever you need to go!:biggrin2:

Mid travel is about 9-10" ish of travel utilizing UCAs and shocks that allow for additional travel. It usually utilizes the existing suspension geometry and lower control arms.

Long travel is usually about 12'ish inches of suspension, and requires longer axles, LCAs, etc.

Mid travel has to do with the internals of the "off the shelf" aftermarket shocks. The internal bump stop is removed allowing that Little bit of extra travel and that's where the "mid travel" comes from.

Yeah, I’m not gonna do it. I figure just spend my money on king shocks and coilovers. Leave the 4Runner only. Maybe later on buy a tundra or Tacoma and start a long travel system there.

Good call

2wd prerunner is a great way to haul ass. And you can cut some holes in the bed and get a sweet long travel
