I have a 2003 4Runner and I'm on my 3rd battery. The Original Panasonic was used for 7 years and it still worked great. I thought I should replace it since I didn't want to get stranded out in the country. 2nd battery was 6.5 years old and the voltage was still good but the CCA was getting low. 3rd battery I bought at Costco and it should last me another 6 years.
