How many miles is too many?

Found a 97 v6 5speed 4x4 fairly local for 3k. The down side is it has 350k miles on the engine. Im concerned of this high of a milage. Would it turn you off from the sale?

if the price is right and seems to be in good condition then no. Do some reading on high millage 4runners and you will be amazed at how well designed this truck is, especially the motor and tranny.

That's such a blanket question. 20,000 miles would be too many if it never had an oil change, so the answer is going to vary greatly with how well the truck was taken care of. A bit of insight though, trucks don't normally make 350k miles being neglected.

I mine has 374k and i would still trust it to drive across America! Just do a good inspection on it and if anything smells extremely burnt than don't get it. If you are a good haggler you can get him to bring the price down a lil.

Mine has 249k and it runs better than most new cars I've driven. It's a 5spd so you don't have to worry about bypassing the transmission fluid line in the radiator or worry about it breaking on the previous owner.

I'm going to go look it over tomorrow. Said it had the transmission rebuilt 20k ago with throwout bearing and clutch. Timing belt was also replaced at that time. Body looks to be in good shape.
