I've recently (in the last 600 miles) gotten a tank (35 miles of 2-lane @ avg. 62 MPH, 185 miles interstate @ avg. 72 MPH) of 22.1 MPG. I have nearly 222,000 miles on it. And that tank isn't an anomaly. I have had as high as 22.7 with all interstate and keeping the speed around 70 MPH.

My 2000 V6 has 280,000 miles, burns no oil and has gotten 19 to 21 mpg the entire time. I bought it new in 2001 and the only work, other than routine maintenance, was a new starter at 210,000 miles and a new clutch and pressure plate at 275,000 (unbelievable). If I live long enough to wear it out I want to do a ground up rebuild.

2001 t4r sr5 v6 swd

2001 T4R SR5 V6 SWD - bought it the week before Xmas 2013, currently has approx. 238,000 miles on it. Runs great...loving it!

98 SR5 4x4 215,000 miles.recent valve job ,timing belt,new shocks/struts,brake job,radiator,regular oil changes.thats it ,16 years new and still running strong ! (ps bought it for my kid to drive started fixing things and ended up falling in love.now daughter gets something different,lol.)

So wait, No timing belt/water pump service? No ball-joint issues???

Mine has 171K...bought with 153K.

98 sr5 v6/auto/4wd....no issues..gets about 18-20 mpg highway but not in the winter months.

Is the 4Runner your trophy car? Mine is an SR5 w/ 156K miles. Alpine, Kappa's in doors, Pioneer 10", Soundstream and Crunch muscle. Kind of a townie 4-Runner but well kept. Dune color. Gonna add the bar step up soon. My dad(RIP), used to say, "The more things you add to your ride is like throwing money on the street." I just gotta have sounds though.:ear:
