How many miles on your 4runner?

2000 Limited with 146k miles. Any suggestions on how to get it to 500k? I have an external tranny cooler and use synthetic fluids. Was thinking about a bypass oil filter? Getting the underbody coated before I drive back to alaska. linex will take it to the dealers lift and do it there. should i save the money and diy fluid film?

Sorry have to say it...it's a 3rd Gen 4Runner if you want it to hit 500k--Drive it! What is the underbody like now? If there is rust already, I'd go with Por 15. I'm in salty NH and bought mine in S. Carolina because I didn't want to treat rust I wanted to prevent it. I've had my buddy oil the frame the first two years and this year I had it fluid filmed because my buddy was moving his shop and didn't have enough time to get it done. With the oil (grease) I'd get it done in the fall--drive on dirt roads and get a good coat of dust. Put sliders on this summer--frame is still as clean as can be. Fluid film is nice for the environment--we'll see how it goes.

270 on my 96 SR%

I just bought this one for $2k. 270000 miles.
5 speed manual SR5 v6 with the factory e-locker in the back. Sunroof and lots of goodies. Runs like a top. Getting ready to swap out the timing belt for the 3RD TIME! Bought it from a friend who's parent bought it new!

Typo, my former X5 was 6, 4Rnr is 5... I've had it for couple months and I'm still stoked about finding it... it was a long search! :hand:
 
Can't complain, 336,440

I've got a 1997 that I ordered from factory the way I wanted. 3.4 l, 5 speed, 4WD, painted bumpers, sport pkg., locking rear diff. Desert Dune.
336,440 as of today, no engine transmission. xfer case( well 1 seal ) drive line rear end work. I thought I would get 300 out of it but it looks like I'll get 400. Biggest mystery was the wiring going into fuel pump
I'm going to have to replace the steering rack.
I hunt with it, tow a boat and a camper and 4wheel. I love it.
 
My'97 T4R Ltd 3.4 V6 has 366,000Km,s

God only knows how many. Dash says 142k but carfax says that when it was last taken into service in July 2013, it had about 232k...and been in two accidents, a sideswipe and a minor front end collision. Looks okay now though, and at $4k I don't think I wasted too much money...
 
1999 4Runner 4cyl 2wd

Mines I got for 85,049 in 2004 for $9,876. Today miles have 186,568. I put new tires about 2 times, brakes, cleaning the engine while replacing position gasket, shocks and all fluids from genuine Toyota. Also drive to Mexico city for 8 times
