Just rolled 170K on the ole 99 Limited.
And then the fuel pump died.

Give me this weekend when it dries up a bit. I'm conflicted as everything is under 50k miles but it's coming up on 15 years now! I plan on changing out the plugs, radiator, and maybe the fuel filter but the engine bay is spotless.

Bought a 1996 last week with "151 k"... I thought wow..what a steal(paid 3500). Didn't do a vin check because upon inspection the engine had bright clean oil and a very clean engine bay. Everything else looked fantastic. Runs and drives excellent.
checked it out later (didn't realize vehiclehistory.com was free). The rig had 160K on it in 2005.
My guess is somewhere near 300K, unless the engine was replaced. I guess that's possible.

I just turned 280,000 on my 97 this morning! My 2000 has 276,800 both are running great except for knock sensor codes.

I like seeing the 250k+ numbers. I will take care of my T4R, but really I just want it to survive until it's paid off in 19 months.

Gotta get that Carfax. I nearly pulled the trigger on TWO different Runners that ended up having significant odometer rollbacks. Thanks for the tip on vehiclehistory.com, I'd never heard of it. I will warn you though, it doesn't tell the whole story quite like Carfax does. I sold a Civic recently (to buy the Runner, actually) and it had a rebuilt title. Just for fun, I just now ran the VIN for it on Vehiclehistory.com, and it does not show that it had ever been wrecked, while the Carfax does. Free is free though, can't argue with the low, low, price of "nothing".

I second this. When I was 19, I bought a pickup truck that supposedly had 119k miles on it but in reality had over 230k on it. I spent $9,000 on the truck and payed cash for it. It took me 3 years of saving 80% of every cent I made to buy it and in the end, had to sell it for $4k. One hard lesson. ALWAYS get the carfax and if ANYTHING is fishy about a sale, run away. Also ask for the seller's ID. The guy I bought it from was not the name on the title so he never got caught.
Yeah. I wasn't too surprised actually. Once I looked at the rig and the interior I figured it had the odometer unit replaced at some point. I figured for 3500 what's the worst that could happen? It runs great and I feel confident it will go for many miles.
I looked at quite a few rigs with 220-280K on them that were asking $4000-5500! Crazy.

Oh yeah. Some of the prices people are asking for the amount of miles on them are insane, but truth be told these things hold their value unlike anything I've ever seen. A true testament to how solid, dependable, and desirable these vehicles are, even 15-20 years later. Keep in mind, these things were 40,000 when new and are some of the most dependable vehicles on the road.

I bought mine with 67,000 miles on it for $6,000 bout 5 years ago. My odometer just rolled 230,000 miles last week. I wouldn't sell it for $6,000 today because I couldn't buy another one for the same money. It's gold to me.

67,000 miles for 6,000?! You got a killer deal, my friend. I still feel like I got a good deal for my 2000 Limited w/200,000 miles for 4,400. I did nationwide searches on all the big auto sales sites and it was just about the best deal I could find. Other than an exhaust needing replaced, needing a brake job, and the climate control buttons being a tad bit wonky, it's just about perfect. Until I get the LBJ's replaced though, I'll be driving in fear :bounce:
Also, 163,000 miles in 5 years - wow, you're driving the s*** out of that thing!

I do recognize it was a great deal, which is why I jumped on it at the time, and yes; I drive a ton here in SoCal.
I average about 2,500-3,000 miles a month driving for work and back and forth to Nevada twice a month.
