Five? My mistake, you mentioned two. Good God man, you're living in one of the last bastions of free market capitalism. Act like it! There are hundreds of Toyota dealerships if the ones two miles from your house aren't willing to do business with you.
Decide the features important to you. Add a burner email address on Gmail and start searching on on Cars.com. Set up filters to narrow it down, sort by price, location, whatever. Send out mass emails expressing interest in their inventory (the burner email is so they don't clog up your regular inbox). If the dealer tries to sell you something other than what you want just because they have it on the lot, tell them to kick rocks.
Set up a spreadsheet with final contenders. Email it out to your strongest prospects and ask for their best possible price. Start a bidding war and choose the best offer. Here's the list I made after whittling down dozens of other cars and dealers.
After I made my choice, I flew in and the dealer picked me up from the airport in my truck. I was inside of a dealership for a total of one hour during my search (to sign my paperwork), then I drove home.
Don't walk into a dealer in shorts and flip flops asking why their stickers are five thousand higher than you think they should be. They get dozens of tire kickers a day. Communicate that you're ready to buy, and if you don't like their price, walk out and find someone else. Thanks to the internet you don't have to do that in person anymore.
