How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I just picked up a 2016 TRD Pro from Doxon Toyota in Auburn, WA. I had a trade in plus cash down, as well as an extended service warranty and gap insurance. But not counting any of that, it would have ran about $48k and some change after tax, licensing ect. 100% financing

2014 4Runner SR5 ~30k miles

2014 4Runner SR5 Premium ~60k miles

They are around the same price. I am leaning towards just the standard SR5, but the features in the Premium have me thinking. Just curious!

SR5 unless you need the Nav (which is usable but not the greatest) and a sunroof. I like the softex seats in the premium but don't think it's worth the difference in price, in terms of miles. You can always upgrade to aftermarket leather later. Honestly I was looking at the same thing but decided to bite the bullet and buy new since I was only paying about $3k more for a brand new vehicle (the 4runners hold their value too well). But in the end it's up to your own individual financial situation.

In the end, it seems the entune stereo that comes with the 2014 is descent enough for what I want. Plus I think I would prefer cheaper payments and use google for my navigation!

I actually have the premium. Most people on this forum seem to love the cloth, but having two young kids I splurged for the easy clean of the softex. I did test drive with the cloth and would have been happy with it (probably very similar to the FJ) but I also wanted to try something new as I've never owned a car without cloth.

I believe the tax is on the difference of trade in and new car. I know I didn't pay full taxes on the new car price. Maybe someone else that knows better can chime in.

The sales tax works this way. Let's say you buy a new car for $1,000 dollars. You'd pay $62.50 sales tax on the purchase. Now you trade in your old car for $500. You now pay sales tax on $500 dollars for the new car at $31.25 even though the new one is still $1,000 dollars new. The tax is based on the value of the new car minus the trade in value.

So if you're trading in a car it pays to get as much as possible on it to reduce your tax bill. Besides reducing the overall cost of the new car. You can also deduct the sales tax on your federal taxes.

I have pictures of 5 or so window stickers on TRD Pro's that they were adding on silly fees like nitrogen tires, car chargers, tinted windows, $899 for the already included 2 years/25k free maintenance, paint protection packages above and beyond what was applied by Toyota.

One of the dealers I actually called out on because they added a fee for the paint protection and the truck had come with it from the factory/port so they were charging twice for the same thing.

So glad I found one that was listed the same as it was on the Toyota website if you priced it with the same options. No silly add ons and I was able to get it for less.

I dont think they are a $40k+ vehicle. Paying for plastic parts and honeycomb bmw wheels to me is silly. Leather seats.... eh OK but Id rather get katzkin.

if someone WANTS to spend that much thats great and Im not knocking them I just dont see the value above $35k
