How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I paid $40,000 for my 15 Limited that stickered for $45,500. It took a lot of me saying no to their (absolute bottom price) and they let me walk out the door. An hour after I got home they called me and said ok to this deal. By the way never do the back and forth thing with the salesman. Insist on having the manager there with you. Saves a lot of time. All the internet sales people bull was worthless. 4 dealers and all was a waist of time. Every one said come in and stopped calling me. None would commit to anything. Finally I went to one of those dealers and just let the outside salesman walk me in the door and get his sales manager to join us. By the way the dealer by my house wanted 3k more after all the haggling.

Thank you for this info, I will needed .:fencing:

What kind of rates are you guys seeing from Toyota Financial for APRs on the 4Runners? I'm wondering if I should even waste time checking with my local bank, I've done every previous vehicle financing through the dealer but I'm not sure if low rates are ever offered on the 4Runner. Let's assume best possible rate !

Dealer offered 3.89% for 72 months. I got 2.8% for 72 months through my State Farm agent.

This question should probably be in it's own thread, but I can't start one yet, so...

Have any of you purchasing new 4Runners lately found any equipped with a sliding rear cargo deck? I've been checking Toyota's website and dealer websites lately, and noticed this past week the sliding rear cargo deck has vanished as an option from Toyota's website and from inventory at almost all dealerships. I found 4 TEPs w/ cargo decks when searching the country on cars.com and autotrader. 3 in CA and 1 in FL.

Anyone here know anything they can share with us regarding the cargo deck? I'm getting nervous as I'm planning on purchasing soon and I really wanted the cargo deck as it makes the rear flat which helps when using an air mattress.

Thanks Steve! Did you fill out the credit app at the dealer to get your rate, then shop around with your agent? I'm a little apprehensive on taking a hard inquiry on a car that's still a month or so out if that makes sense...and just want to go about the financing in the right way.

2016 tep

2016 TEP $1000 off MSRP. Best I could find and I had a hard time even finding a TEP, particularly in the color I wanted.

EDIT: just realized I dint type it out - $40835

I've always found financing before car shopping, I like to know exactly what the best rate that I can get and what my payments are going to be before I talk to any salespeople or look at the first car

And to your original question, I did 1.99% through PenFed and the lowest Toyota could go was 2.99%

first off, thanks for all the info on this thread and forum in general. damn solid group of folks and information being exchanged here.

got this RWD SR5 without 3rd row seating, but with running boards/tint/entune for $32.5k (~1k below true car) + TTL (35k out the door). I had an original goal of $32K, so close enough.

they also matched my 3rd party rate of 2% via lightstream online. much credit to the dealership, it was a completely seamless and professional process with zero attempts at upselling or sneaking fees, in/out in two hours after negotiating the final price via text. (Durant Toyota outside of Fort Worth)

I told them that I'd use whatever financing was best for me and them, or I'd pay cash. I knew I had 3.5% nailed down on my home equity line, so if they couldn't beat that, I had a fallback. I did fill out the online application a few days before my 4Runner arrived, but didn't commit to anything until we sat down for the signing ritual. They cut me a better deal on the truck by borrowing, but it wasn't through Toyota. They found the 3.54% for 60 months at Bank of America. I went with the 3.89% for 72 months for lower initial payments until I do an early payoff.

While I was on the phone with State Farm getting the insurance info, my agent asked if I wanted them to refinance. I stopped the next day, and they were able to offer 2.82% for 72 months, plus free GAP insurance. It cost me $100 to close the BoA loan early, but I'll make that up in well under a year.

Man I paid alot for mine. 2016 4runner LTD blizzard/Redwood, 3 row. $45,045 after taxes and all fees.....$48,695.68 :target:

I think you're just a little higher. It's not like you are thousands off. I had just about the same config and was just a few hundreds less. It's all about if YOU feel you got the deal you wanted. After that, you've got a great vehicle.

Don't feel bad. Maybe it's just a Minnesota thing where we don't like to negotiate with salespeople. I bought mine for around $42K before the nickel and diming started. I did cry a little on the inside when I saw the @Kennyr44 deal. I'm not gonna lie... But, I've never been more satisfied with a vehicle purchase nine months later. So, I've got that going for me...

It all depends on time of year you buy and the desperation of the dealership to sell another vehicle. I bought mine mid month and feel I got a great deal at 41k for a 4x4 Limited without third row. I even had the salesman pony up for a rear cargo cover. I started my process through Sam's Club Auto Buying program and the salesman came in lower than the true car estimate Sam's club generated. I hit him lower and we met in the middle. I did not need another vehicle and was willing to walk if they did not come down where i was comfortable. The secret to buying is to know what you want to pay and walk if they don't get to it. Some will call you back and says lets make a deal and others won't. They did not want to sell a car... Some dealers are volume dealers and will sell cars at a loss to get dealer incentives for selling so many vehicles.

My tax rate is 10% and all but ate my down payment I put on my vehicle. Out the door was $45,660.99. Be nice but be firm and willing to say no. Once they get to your number or right at it, hit them with one more small request, window tint, cargo cover, free hat, or something else to "sweeten" the deal.

I got my SW TEP KDSS for just north of 39k+TTL so just a hair over $43k OTD. Not the greatest price, but under what TrueCar and KBB were saying others were paying.

(And that was with tint and 3rd year free scheduled maintenance)

Bought my Metallic Gray 2016 Limited two weeks ago with Exhaust Tip and All Weather Mats/Tray as the only options. Most dealers in the Portland, OR area don't seem to want to deal on 4Runners. Makes sense since a couple of the dealers are "one price" and every fourth car that I drive by is a 4Runner.

At Toyota of Gladstone, the MSRP was $44,350 on the vehicle I wanted (though the invoice they showed me had an $895 VIP package that took it up to $45,245). Without that package, the invoice price was $41,887. We ended up at $42,040 + title, registration, and tags for a total of $42,602 out the door (I still get the VIP package for whatever it's worth). I also asked them to throw in a set of crossbars to close the deal, but I have to install them myself.

This was $1,000+ better than the second best offer I got, which was from Vancouver Toyota (and that was only a couple hundred bucks better than Beaverton's "CLEAR" price). Pretty much every dealer in the area had a similar vehicle on the lot, so I was able to shop around--but none of the other dealers would budge. Maybe it's just that these cars move fast (Beaverton sold the car I was looking at while I was on the lot), but I think the lack of sales tax also has something to do with it. Oregon dealers have a huge pricing advantage over dealers in other states, so they seem less willing to move on price for a 4Runner.

I'm jealous of some of the LE prices I've seen on here, but the lack of sales tax makes up for it, and I really don't think I could have done much better without taking a lot more time to make a purchase.

EDIT: Looks like my price is lower than any of the sales listed in my area on TrueCar, but is only moderately below average nationally.

Got an offer for a Limited 4x4 in black for $47,500 OTD in Texas, which is about $44,500 before TTL, so about $3,000 off MSRP.

MSRP on sticker is $47,560
Options and packages include: 3rd row, stainless steel exhaust tip, remote start, ball mount, cross bars, aluminum running boards, cargo net, carpet mats, VPP

What do you guys think? Do you think they have room to go lower?
