How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

So here's an update on my attempt to order. I am being told two things.

1). That they might not be able to get a 2016 ordered how I want it because we'll cross into the 2017 MY change before the order is complete.

AND

2). There were so many request for sliding rear cargo tray that the process of adding them was moved to the port workshop however they are only putting them on SR5 and limited versions and are not taking orders for adding them to Trail, TEP or TRD pro.

So which is a lie, one or both?

Seems like both. Where in Alabama are you? The two I told you about in Fort Walton Beach may not be too far? Also, they have a TRDP! Come down and take a look!

I second that. Mine has the tray, but I wouldn't bother with it if I were ordering. Pointless gimmick.

I'm short, stocky, and I have short arms (hence "Ryno" or "rhino", if you will) and I have no problem reaching the back of the cargo area. Maybe, MAYBE, it would save the bumper from a scratch if I slid it out to load golf clubs or something, but that's iffy. Also, I don't see myself sitting on it or tailgating or whatever. It's not that I don't like, it is kinda cool, but not really useful to me.

I'd say about 2-3 inches.

#1 You will be luckier than Bill Clinton in a whore house than to be able to find a 2016 the way you want in your state.
#2 has to be a lie... no one wants that.

In regards to getting a new 4Runner, you might want to check an out of state dealer because if their tax rate is significantly cheaper it may save you $$$$ and you might find the one you want. Thanks to the internet you can browse inventories or chat directly online w an internet sales rep from the dealer. When I got mine, it was a month after the big quakes in Japan this year that shut down toyota factories and I got the last TEP non-KDSS in the state (until more arrived weeks later.)

Ok so about taxes. Last time I purchased out of state I was charged my tax rate for my place of residence and not the tax rate of the location I purchased. Isn't this the norm? My tax rate is low (3.5%) and TN (the only neighboring state that is not SE or Gulf) might have a better chance at getting one of these but their tax rate is 7%. I don't think I'd have to pay that 7%.. but it's been a while.

IIRC when I purchased out of state (MS) the tax rate was a bit higher there than it was in my area.. I believe they collected the tax at my state tax rate and handed me the check with AL details on it. I just handed it over to them at the DMV and began my vehicle registration. It has been a while but I believe this is how it all went down.

I think you had to pay the difference since it was lower here. They could have collected it at your rate also I believe.

Doh... I am mistaken about the tax thing from state to state.

BUT city to city you may have a lower sales tax.

I also understand there's "storage" available under the sliding tray. But to lose up to 3" of vertical space is not worth it.

The tray is a total piece of shit. Shit falls in between when you need to use it ... Doesent close etc. Don't bother with it ... They sell an extra acessorie to help with its functionality... But still not great
