How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

New guy here been lurking the site for awhile now.

For all the PNW people here on site, can you point in the right direction to having a great deal with a dealership. Been wanting a sr5 premium for awhile can’t find a dealer with a good price. Any good salesman, experience, good overall customer service that helps. Thanks you!

Not new, but I bought my CPO Trail Premium from Ron Tonkin in Portland. Willy Maddox was my salesman. Flew up from LA to get it because it was the exact truck I wanted for a price just above trade-in. Great experience.

2018 OFR w/KDSS (which I want), moonroof (which I also want), sliding cargo tray (which I don't really want), paint protection film (which I really don't want) and the phone cable package (which I really REALLY don't want)... the dealer has a MSRP of $44,136.00 and immediately texted me a price of $39,050.00.

Opinion/Thoughts of what my offer should be and what I can expect for a realistic price out the door excluding tax, title, etc?

Thanks

I worked with a broker (Heidi) at https://www.amazingautowoman.com. Never had to set a foot at the dealership after test driving the 4Runner and getting somewhat ridiculous quotes from the dealers in email. You tell her what you want and how much you want to pay, she gets it for you through a dealer she is working with and delivers the car to you. Just make sure you have reasonable expectations on the price. If the truck you want is on a lot locally just send her a link from the dealer’s website.

I got an 2018 mgm Limited with third row and rubber mats for $43500 plus taxes etc. plus her fee back in November.. I believe it has pulsing brake lights too, but I most certainly did not pay for that ;)

Let her know I referred her, I’ll get $50 for that!

Just pulled the trigger last Tuesday,
2018 4x4 Limited Blizzard Pearl
MSRP $47,365
Got $4800 off and excellent trade value on trade in.
Navy Fed Credit Union 3.29% Toyota was only advertising 3.49% but dealer got Toyota financing at 3.09%
Wife is happy with her new ride. I really wish she would of gone for an Off Road Premium. She wanted the extra features only in the limited. Thanks for all the info provided here.
also Dealer Info;
Village Toyota Crystal River FL

That doesn't sound like a bad price...for that price it must be Offroad Premium?
This is pretty much the same set-up I am shopping for.

$39k for that configuration looks pretty similar to what TrueCar says I should pay on average in my area (New England)...which I interpret as not bad, but more aggressive dealers will do better.

Sorry about that, yes ORP -- Offroad Premium.

I have a couple friends who think I can offer up 36.5 to 37 flat and not get laughed off the lot but I am unsure.

Currently in market for an ORP and 2 dealers I have visited locally asking for Costco pricing are only dropping price of truck under 2k.

We just test drove this weekend - haven't gotten into price dance yet.

The last time we bought a Toyota (wife's current Highlander), it was amazing the variability across different dealers regarding willingness to deal. That said, it also seems like there is quite a bit of variability region by region regarding pricing

I doubt you will get into that range without them making it up some way be it in dealer fees, low trade in etc. The 39 is a very fair price assuming they are not bending you over on dealer fees, etc (thats where you have to look out!) but if thats the first offer they sent I would image there is some more room.

Yeah it seems that way. I looked outside to the Austin area (TX) and their pricing is considerably lower.

I'm going to Yakima, WA to pick up my 2018 Super White TRD ORP w/ KDSS tomorrow morning.

Went through the Costco auto program and was quoted ~$1800 off of MSRP so just a little over 4% discount.

I'm not happy with this level of discount but 4runners fly off the lot at every dealership so the buyer doesn't have much leverage to negotiate.

If I wasn't dead set on KDSS and super white I would have held out for a regular TRD OR and asked for 35k and accepted if they could come down to 36k.

The sales rep I was working with was barely able to find anything with KDSS, let alone in Super White.

Just count your blessings when you live outside the PNW and can actually find a good deal on a 4runner.

I'll edit this post when I get final numbers after I sign. I'm hoping to get invoice as well so I can post that in here for reference.

I spoke with a Costco membership advocacy representative and he confirmed the discount I received as inline with their guide lines.

keep us posted. good luck!

Last Thursday I brought home my Classic Silver TRD ORP with KDSS, Moon roof, sliding cargo shelf, crushed oval step boards, mats, led fogs etc. MSRP was 44,612 plus Virginia sales tax of $1869. Total OTD price of $46,482. I offered $23,000 plus my 2015 Subaru CrossTrek (guaranteed trade in value of $17,400 on a new Subaru). It took a couple trips back to the sales manager and about an hour total for them to agree. I'm happy. I think I made a pretty good deal. My. Airy Toyota in N.C. is good to deal with.

Should I Buy?

first post so I hope this is an okay place to put it.

currently looking at buying this 5th gen. what do you guys think?

2015 dark grey trail
salvage title
56,000 miles
cloth seats
KDSS suspension

if you can see in the attachments, the damage was super light but did deploy the passenger curtain airbag.

The owner had everything fixed perfectly but did not replace the curtain airbag.

How much would you pay for this 4runner?
How much would it cost to replace the passenger curtain airbag?
If I were to get a good deal on this, could I potentially sell it for more with airbags still missing?

thanks for you replies, and remember, I'm new, first post, so be nice.

first picture is how it sits now, second was before repair. thanks!

I just bought a 2018 TRD OR with KDSS, everything else is basic (cloth seats, no cargo pull out, moonroof or anything) and paid $39,500 OTD in Phoenix AZ. I had one dealer that laughed me off for any offer less than $40k, and another that wouldnt go lower than $39,750 OTD for the same model.

Also, I have been tracking the used market extensively for the last 3 months, and I talked to someone who sold a used 2016 Trail with ~15k miles for $38,000. So i figured a new one for $1,500 more than that was better deal than going with the used market.

Yes, same situation here - lots of lightly used 2016s in the northeast....really not a great deal vs. new

Didn't buy new, but this may help some folks trying to decide between going new or used.

I bought my 17 SR5 Premium, from Toyota of Dallas, for $27000 before trade in/taxes.

Runner had a little less than 20k miles on it, was a Certified Pre Owned, and all that.

I traded in a 2010 Tundra and got $11k for it. Then you add the taxes (I am in Arkansas), fees, service contract (100k mile bumper to bumper AND powertrain).

After it was all said and done, I owe a little over $20k on it.

I looked for new, and they weren't being discounted in Arkansas or Dallas. Even the used ones were rare and/or high, in Arkansas. I knew I wanted black or white, SR5 Premium, and a CPO. Had to go to Dallas to get the right one, but it was worth it.

Couldnt convince myself at the time, to get into a new ORP or anything like that. I wasn't really 100% on the 4Runner when I bought it, so I went ahead and went new.. since trade in for the one I bought was like $26k and I owed much less than that.

The depreciation was non existent after driving off the lot, compared to buying new and driving off.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and have really come to love it. I have done a few things to it, to make it less soccer mom. I am happy with my "positive" equity in it, in case we decide to trade it in on a Lexus RX or NX, later on down the road.

Bought 2018 4Runner 3/30/2018

My 4Runner was $41,200 Tax, tags and dealer fees. I bought the SR5 Premium 4WD. Options include Moon roof, LED illumination (exterior & interior), cargo cover, Third row seating, and the XP Predator package. XP package includes the predator step bar, blacked out XP badges and trim, TRD Pro wheels, TRD Pro front fascia and grill. The XP package is not a dealer installed option. It is a distributor installed option done at the port distributor. In my vehicle's case the Southeast distributor in Jacksonville. The TRD wheels are put in the back of the truck and are the only thing installed by the dealer. They put Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires on it. It also came with paint protection on the doors and Toyoguard Platinum. My trade covered the dealer fees, taxes and registration.

I went this way because I needed 3rd row seating, but wanted a TRD PRO look. Third row seating is not available in the OFF Road and TRD PRO. So XP Predator was the next best thing. You also can't get the moon roof in the OFF Road or TRD PRO. I'm very happy with it. Wanted a Jheep Wrangler, but got the benefits of most of what the Jheep has to offer plus the reliability and durability to boot.
