How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Didn't buy new, but this may help some folks trying to decide between going new or used.
I bought my 17 SR5 Premium, from Toyota of Dallas, for $27000 before trade in/taxes.
Runner had a little less than 20k miles on it, was a Certified Pre Owned, and all that.
I traded in a 2010 Tundra and got $11k for it. Then you add the taxes (I am in Arkansas), fees, service contract (100k mile bumper to bumper AND powertrain).
After it was all said and done, I owe a little over $20k on it.
I looked for new, and they weren't being discounted in Arkansas or Dallas. Even the used ones were rare and/or high, in Arkansas. I knew I wanted black or white, SR5 Premium, and a CPO. Had to go to Dallas to get the right one, but it was worth it.
Couldnt convince myself at the time, to get into a new ORP or anything like that. I wasn't really 100% on the 4Runner when I bought it, so I went ahead and went new.. since trade in for the one I bought was like $26k and I owed much less than that.
The depreciation was non existent after driving off the lot, compared to buying new and driving off.
Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and have really come to love it. I have done a few things to it, to make it less soccer mom. I am happy with my "positive" equity in it, in case we decide to trade it in on a Lexus RX or NX, later on down the road.
This seems like a really good deal here. When I was buying my 16, I was deciding between new/used. I went new. I ended up trading it in a year later, with 20k miles on it, for $30,000. I paid $33,000 new. I drove it for a year for only $3k, which was pretty damn amazing to me. The resale/trade values are insane on this vehicle.

That was my logic. Like I said, I wasn't 100% convinced on the Runner when I bought it. Was just looking to unload my Tundra before it started having problems. A Runner felt like an investment that would pay for itself, later on, should I want to trade it in. I like the fact that I will be positive $5k plus, when I decide to trade it in, rather than -$5k equity.
I have come to love the Runner, but I could easily give it up for something my wife wants to drive. She has a 2017 Escape right now, that has been a great vehicle. I owe $18k on it, and trade in is about $16k. Once I am even equity or better on it, I will trade it in and either get her a Lexus, or get another truck.. then trade in my Runner for a Lexus, for her.
I went to another dealer close by in another city yesterday. I found them advertising a couple of 4Runners at ~3k off MSRP on both Autotrader and their official site, which is quite a bit more then the other 2 dealers I have gone to for Costco pricing.
I am told that the pricing was a "computer error" and they are only doing 500 off MSRP for Costco pricing.
I immediately start walking out and then get the sales pitch, "what do we need to do right now to make a deal?" LOL.

I would do a search on cars.com, autotrader, etc to get an idea on the range of prices you're looking at, preferably locally. The salvage title is always going to drag the selling price down so I'd low ball the offer and see if the seller just wants to move it.
3k or 500 of msrp....what an error, lol.

Dealer found one in the Seattle area. Must of just got of the boat since it had 1 mile on the odo. 39,149 + Lic and tax.
Congrats. Tell us more about the options and trim...looks like a TRD OR (plus your earlier comment in this thread). KDSS?

Same here. I was shopping for a new TRD ORP when I came across a used 2017 ORP with only 4100 miles.
Previous owner had installed a Stage 2 ICON and did a complete swap out of the speakers and headunit.
Paid 41K even which would have been about the same price I would have paid for a new non-KDSS here in Portland. With KDSS were in the 43 range.
The 4Runner was for his wife. He bought it July 2017, ICON was installed in October 2017 and traded in December 2017 for a Volvo XC90 that he promptly lifted.

looks like a OR premium, mainly due to the side mirrors i think.

When I picked up my Super White w/ KDSS in Yakima last Weds, it had 155 miles on it and was traded from Toyota of Kirkland which is exactly 154 miles from the port. I guess that right arrived at the same time as mine.
I bought through the Costco Program and the sales person couldn't find any super white with KDSS. He called me up suddenly and said he had found one, well before I had expected him too.
The boat must have just got in last week and I snagged the one Super white with KDSS.
It's been a super hectic weekend for me but I want to get my purchase information in here soon.
KDSS was the best thing to stand firm on, the vehicle stays flat through every turn and you don't suffer the moderate amount of body roll that stock 4runners suffer.

Yes, it's a TRD OR premium. Came with Moonroof, mats, SS tailpipe, and cross bars for the rack. No KDSS. While Toyota's reliability is legendary, it seems like something that could go wrong years down the road. Maybe that's an unfounded concern.
It's interesting that between the 3 or 4 test drives how the body roll wasn't very noticeable until we got it home and started driving on "our" roads. The rig has a very different feel on the twisty winding country roads we drive. It does handle our 2 miles of crappy gravel road very well. It's a nice rig and wife is happy so that makes it worth it. Looking forward to spending some time with it and it's nice to have an offroad capable rig again.

Thanks! Really love it. Was debating between the Pilot and 4runner, but after seeing all the electrical issues on the Pilot, decided to try something new with the T4R.

Look into adding an after market suspension like a Stage 2 ICON. I bought mine used with it already installed and is night and day driving experience from what I was test driving new.
