How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Settled on a 2018 ORP w kdss last year...loved it but I truly wanted a Pro....been hunting for the better part of 6 months....one popped up in voodoo blue at the dealer down the street for...I usually drive out of state because that’s where I find best deals...was surprised that I was able to deal on it...

Can someone help me out with what I should be offering on this one, dealer is at a sales price of $40,864. Seems like I would be better suited going for a 2020 at that price.

I think you got good deal. For same MSRP and same options back in 2018, I paid $43000 OTD. No KDSS right?

Picking up new 2019 sr5p for $36000 even plus t/t. $39,100 otd. List was $41400 I think. New truck for my mom. Her commander was just totaled. Early retirement gift. She is done April 1, 2020.
On that note also found a broker offering just over 10% on 2020s. He was almost at 20% off leftover 19s but ran out before insurance settled.

In Colorado -
2020 Offroad Premium with moonroof and KDSS for $41,500 OTD, MSRP was $45,500. I was expecting more flex because I bought the same build in a 2018 for $39,000 - but they told me to have a nice day if I wasn't interested at the $41,500.

I don't get it. How's that any worse of a deal than you got on your 2018? The base MSRP of a ORP went up $2,075 from '19 - '20 due to the added Toyota Safety Sense stuff. You're listing OTD prices, so those include sales tax. $2075 + average Denver area tax = $2230. Chalk the other $270 up to the change from '18 pricing to '19. I'd say it's a pretty equivalent deal.

From what I read here, the OTD price people are quoting oftentimes does not include tax. That's why it's quite confusing trying to ascertain what's a good deal and what's not.

Well. In my case OTD was everything included. I bought my T4R in Texas , picked up by myself (I am a car carrier cost to cost)got back to Brooklyn NY went to DMV get my tags,they already had a check for $3800.00 . I paid $4300.00 back in 2018 in June. Consider that 2019 wasn’t out yet. Worst time to buy but I had no choice. Now better time to buy your car, I think you can squeeze some more out of Dealer. Good luck

I wasn’t aware MSRP is up $2075 YoY, but this was a spur of the moment decision so I hadn’t been actively researching.
I traded in a clear title vehicle that was worth more than the 4Runner purchase price, so there was no sales tax. Regardless, the MSRP explains why they were so firm at $41,500 - I now feel confident i essentially got the same deal I did on the 2018.
