How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

Many conservatives thought Obama was going to take everyone's guns. That didn't happen over the course of his two terms. Gun rules were actually relaxed.

Biden isn't going to come in an enact some extreme agenda squashing the O&G industry. However, we can't keep going the direction of the current administration with it being a free for all and letting the O&G run free and weigh in heavily of the regulations. We need to set goals to improve efficiency and reduce pollution, even if those goals might seem extreme initially. By having lofty goals, you push innovation. Goals can and are adjusted.

The new 4runner will most certainly be more fuel efficient. Heck, just a change to a 7 to 8 speed auto and direct injection alone would increase efficiency 20% and make it more competitive mpg wise. It would also make the 4runner a good bit quicker. Toyota is thinking long and hard about engines and transmissions because they want to maintain bulletproof reliability and simplicity. Turbos and hybrid aren't the way to go for a vehicle being used 50+ miles in on a tight trail.

O&G allowed us to get out of Middle Eastern wars and we are now 100% non-reliant on anyone. At the same time Trump kept the CAFE standards increasing at 5% which I think is reasonable. 20% (which is what it formerly was under Obama) will almost surely happen under Biden and will severely impact auto manufacturers. The free for all SUV days will be over unless they can add hybrid technology to all of them. If so and the environment is better off because of it good on them, but it will be far more expensive and good luck working on vehicles yourself. I think this is why so many people still love the early 2000's technology 4Runner. Simplicity. But gas prices will be going up for sure.

Question for anyone with experience: what luck, or prices, have anyone negotiated for swapping out with TRD Pro wheels/tires - or is there a standard 'package' to request? My dealer's 'swap' price was the same as buying them outright, no credit or compensation for the current wheel/tire combo...

You can try but those extra wheels/tires are essentially a non-value for them. You could get a Venture edition, which is the same thing as an offroad with gray pro wheels and a roof basket.

My recommendation is this: get your truck as cheaply negotiated as possible, then order yourself some f(x) pros from FN Wheels. They're an inch wider than pro wheels, a few pounds lighter, and come in different colors. Swap your tires on or pick better ones for offroading.

Then sell your wheels on the forums. I sold my OR wheels for $450 on Tacomaworld.

Currently negotiating with a dealer, after having a really difficult time finding a white ORP w/ KDSS anywhere on the East Coast. Costco pricing is, so far, the only way any dealership has been willing to go below 5% MSRP - at least over the phone.

I was able to order a 2021 white ORP with KDSS for $43000. I had to shop around 3 dealer ships and almost settled on one for $43,800. No other options. Then they started to add bs items on like nitrogen air ($380), vin etching ($300) etc etc. I told them to take them off and they said it was standard procedure. I called them out on their bs and they agreed to $43,800. I still didn't like how they tried to do that so I left. Went to another dealer I had visited earlier and asked if they could meet $43,000 with pro wheels. They wanted the sale and had no issues. So that was my experience. I hit them with a trade in and we agreed on that price too. Play a bluff or two. You may surprise yourself. I didn't go through Costco.

You are correct but both Mitchy boy and Nancy are 78 and 80 I believe?? A majority of ranking members of committees are also over 65. I guess my point is this country is such a big bureaucracy that I think its laughable when people think stuff will change overnight let alone when a new president comes into office......

Door guards are ghetto and maybe $2 their cost. Ceramic coating a waste on new paint and probably not something that should be put on anyway. Seems like you got a fair price, I wouldn't say it is spectacular though. Hopefully it didn't come with the cheap "running boards", those are either throwaways or sell immediately. Too bad you didn't get a sliding rear cargo tray.

I legit called out the salesperson and their manager for this tactic. Apparently it's "standard" procedure there. I am NOT paying $300 for ****ing nitrogen gas. They also had a plethora of other "standard" procedure add-ons like ceramic coating, full detail wash, vin etching, roadside assistance, gap insurance. This made the otd price to $57k for a ORP with KDSS. Eventually got that all taken off and they settled on $43,800+TTL. I walked away from that. **** freehold toyota.

Just go to cars.com, enter in your zip code, new vehicles, then choose 4Runner and drive train 4x4 (if that is what you want), then after the search results come up sort by lowest price. That should give you a good idea, but obviously you can negotiate it down from there. I'd expand your search distance to probably 100 miles, or more if you want more negotiation ammo.

Negotiating on the last day of the work month (for the dealer, could be Saturday) or last day of the work year will get you a better deal. Last day of the year may be the best day all year if you can wait that long.
