Anyone purchased a limited or nightshade recently? I’ve been looking to move on from my Tacoma and come back to a 4Runner. I just started to do some research and was curious if 10-12% off MSRP was still realistic

Yeah. Austin. I got really lucky. I had called dealers all of the country looking for this color/trim, but couldn't turn anything up. I was willing to fly out and drive back. I went to the closest dealer to try and get a test drive of whatever they had in stock, planning on just doing a build-to-order that day. I saw the demo on the lot, and they mentioned it probably wasn't for sale, but they would check anyway. They came back 15 minutes later saying it was good to go if I wanted it, so I bought it right then and there. Great experience.

Been following this thread closely! Does it seem that dealers are easier to move on price from SR5 Premium 4x4 or the ORP? It seems that with certain options the price almost comes out to be the same...

I'm located in Charlotte, NC and hoping to find a dealer that someone has had some experience with. I'm closest to Hendrick by the speedway.

I'm really hoping to land softex, white/grey/black, a moonroof, and hopefully 4WD!

What is up with Washington State 4runner inventory? Last week I went to 3 different dealers looking for 4runner ORP including Larson of Tacoma. No one is budging passed a $500 discount. They say its the low inventory.

I bought almost a month ago in Western Washington. Inventory was tight then and best I could do was $750 below MSRP working with multiple dealers in the area. Even tried down in Portland. Supply is short and they just don't need to deal. I think the smartest thing you can do in WA is go to a low tax county and buy there. You can save as much as 2%

I did get extremely lucky and with 2 days left in the month a dealer offered me exactly what I wanted well below MSRP. Best I could piece together he did it to make a volume incentive. That's really where they make their money on new auto sales.

Looking in Washington is a pain because most dealers really won't negotiate (unless it's the end of the year or they are super desperate). I had been looking for months in state and out of state and was convinced that I was going to have to buy it out of state. I guess I just got lucky or the timing was right. You might have more luck finding one out of state.

Just joined this group as my '21 TRD ORP is on a truck to Pennsylvania with delivery coming soon. I ordered at the beginning of the month and locked in a price that was ~$500 below MSRP. Inventory is extremely tight here in Central PA and I dealers are not moving on price. Good luck out there.

Same issue in Michigan. Over the past 2-3 weeks I’ve had over 8 4runners ORPs go into reserved or sold status as the dealer was inquiring on a trade. I’ve contacted over 10 dealerships and the story is the same.

The one that has been the most helpful is now looking into 4runners in “a” status, meaning they are built, but still in Japan. In addition to that I’m going in to order one. There were none en route to anywhere near SE MI. It’s pretty crazy right now.

2021 Limited Price Paid

I recently picked up a 2021 Limited at the beginning of March up in MN. I price shopped 5 different dealers. I did have a trade so the value offered there factored into my decision.

-MSRP: $48,573 (4WD Limited in Magnetic Gray, Running Boards, All Weather Floor Mats + Cargo Tray). Car was right off the truck, <5 miles, never test driven.
-Initial "best" price from dealer: $46,000
-Final Purchase Price after negotiation: $44,200 (9.1% off of MSRP).
-MN has sales tax and registration that I paid on top of this, but no additional dealer or delivery fees.

I did find another dealer who got me down to about 9.5% off MSRP, but it wasn't the color I wanted, and they offered me less on my trade.

Loving the 4runner so far!

Yeah, inventory is extremely low. FWIW I passed on this, but Toyota of Seattle is getting a Nautical Blue ORP with KDSS and Moonroof (maybe other packages too), they got the allocation last week. Were willing to let me put a deposit down and even give me $1500 off MSRP, but I decided I didn't want to restart the waiting game and already have a much better price, so I am waiting it out (mine is MGM, but already built and should be here sometime next month). Of course, I hope they don't try to increase the price on me when the vehicle comes, but I'm coming in with a cashier's check and willing to walk away if they start going off our agreed price.

If you want no haggle, hit up Toyota of Puyallup with your Costco membership and they will give you $100 under invoice, no questions asked. Problem is then finding inventory to fill that order if they don't have any on the lot.

OTD w/ title, state taxes & $150 doc fee: 59,167

I had them delete a $500 dash cam that was part of the original spec, and swap out predator tube steps for the trail running boards. They only subtracted part of the lowered cost from original quote, but did throw in a few goodies to make me feel better.

2 days into ownership and I'm thinking I may sell the running boards and replace with actual sliders - I step over them to get in to the truck so they seem pointless. I'll have to run that by my wife first...

The truck was literally 1 day on the lot when I bought it.

Still cant believe i am paying this much.

But i sold my leased Highlander to Carvana for $2000 equity.

I just pretend that I got $3200 off for the 4Runner.

Financed at 2.34% for 60 month.

Overall, i am ok with the numbers

We just purchased a 2021 Trail in Cement in Des Moines. After looking for an TRD OR and not a single one on a lot for 200 miles, we settled for a Trail. MSRP was 44,138, paid 41,010 out the door price. I totally expected to pay full MSRP with the huge shortage of Runners in our area, but they did haggle some.

Anyone have experience with making a deposit for 4R TRD PRO.

Would love any input, Found a vehicle that is coming to dealer, settled on price, paid deposit.

I received 1) VIN 2) vehicle details/options 3) Buyers order with all the prices including vehicle price, title, tax, etc etc. 4) receipt for deposit via credit card

Do I need anything else to make sure everything is good other then wait for the vehicle? I am so excited/anxious about the whole process since it is new for me. I've been saving up my whole adult life to get one, any input/knowledge will be greatly appreciated

For my California peeps here you go:

Best deal on a 4runner OR was in Arizona. Here is the deal I got:
MSRP: $43,434
Discount: $3,776 (8.7%)
= $39,657

However, the truck was 3 weeks out and I couldn't wait that long because I already sold my previous car. I ended up going to a dealer with one in stock in Norcal and got the following:
MSRP: $44,289
Discount: $3,512 (7.9%)
= $40,776 (This is using Costco)

The one I ended up getting had kdss which I really didn't want, but ended up having to get it because it was the only TRD OR on the lot.

In 2019 I extended my search throughout the Rust Belt from Milwaukee all the way through Cleveland. Had no luck with Michigan dealers. None had any urgency to move metal. Ended up deciding buying mine out of Milwaukee area with two best offers from separate dealerships. Pretty painless and easy trip taking the Amtrak/Metra from Ann Arbor to Chicago/Milwaukee if you find something.
